um, where did the others go??

Mum says I haven't updated about the kittens lately and she was worried.
Well, don't worry, guys!
They are just fine, getting fatter by the moment. I don't have any great new photos for you as Tilda Swinton is not into letting me manhandle them as much as I'd like to (ie: all the time).
Actually, I'm pretty sure that Tilda is just jealous and wants all of my affections for herself.
She still sleeps on my head for at least part of the night. And I still kind of think it's nice. Kind of.



But. I did come home the other day to find only ONE kitten in the box. And I did panic a little bit. Not that they could have come to any harm, really, I mean Tilda couldn't drown them in the toilet herself or anything.
Turned out she had moved them on me.
Their box had been in the middle of the room, where Tilda generally was sleeping and she seemed fine with that, except that I had been handling them more recently and then had Mrs. over to see them and another friend drop by and Tilda had enough of that I guess. So she moved them behind my clothing rack behind my suitcase onto a coat which had fallen back there. The two of them were curled up asleep back there, much to my relief.
It took me a few minutes to find them though, moving everything very carefully. I didn't know where they were and what if I knocked something onto them and crushed them??
I moved them back to the box and then Tilda tried carrying one back to her hiding spot but dropped him, she then tried to pick him up by putting his whole head in her mouth!

So obviously I moved the whole box to her hiding spot and she seems contented now. I'm annoyed because I like looking at them all day and now they are far. But that's okay. Maybe next week they'll open their eyes and be like real pets!


Cpt. Heh came over today and looked at them. He kept teasing Tilda that he was a hawk who was going to swoop in and eat up all her kittens.
Good thing she doesn't have a good grasp of english.
He also told the kittens to "learn how to walk" and made fun of them for being blind.

It's Friday night but I am not partying-all-the-time. I did, however, pick up a shift I did not expect to get at work tonight and made lots of money I wasn't expect but badly needed.
Mmm feels good.

And I have a special project all weekend, starting with a 8 a.m. call tomorrow morning.

Maybe I will want to cook more for myself if I tell you about it.

Goddamn I wish eating well were easier. Bad food should be completely inaccessible to me.

I bought some "healthy choice" puddings and then I ate ALL OF THEM.
And you know what? They really weren't that "healthy", gotta say.



Anyway, you know how I always talk about all the breakfast tacos I eat at aunties and uncles? Well I've been making a variation of them at home which is almost as good (except I don't have potato salad or hash that good at all or even close).
I hope I didn't tell you this before?
Anyway, my version doesn't have a taco shell or dillsourcream, but it is:

1 can of mixed beans
2 cloves garlic (or more)
1 onion
some salsa (or pasta sauce and hot sauce or tomato paste and water and spices)
--heat through and mash that all together in a frying pan and then layer scrambled eggs and grated cheddar cheese
VOILA.

I love it forever.

Did you know I was a cheerleader in highschool?

Actually, our school didn't have a cheerleading squad. But I did have friends on student council. And they did manage to borrow those uniforms for us!
And we did black out some of our teeth (with that shit you buy at hallowe'en) and wear army boots and high-tops and we did refuse to take off the uniforms and we did wear them to Jerry's at lunch and we did push people in the hallway (because cheerleaders are the best and can do things like that) and we did try to perform the "how funky is your chicken" routine from Buffy The Vampire Slayer (the movie) but our principal would not allow it on account of it being "too sexual" (whaaaaa) and we did perform once at a pep rally so I guess I was a cheerleader in highschool.
So there.

I've been kind of nostalgic for everything these days. It's February/March/April.
Otherwise known as my least favourite time of year. The time of year where everything makes me want to collapse.

I'm missing kisses. And small kindnesses.

Today at a meeting about a short film we were talking about how we could all get famous so that we could all afford cottages. Talking about having cottages and cabins all over the world.
I can't even imagine.
I still probably owe you a post about last summer's cottage adventure. It's been so long I don't even remember what all happened, but I think the pictures alone are worth seeing.



Ahhh homesick!
It's been two months, that's usually when it sets in. I'm just ready for home-time.
I want to go in May so badly for my Valentine's wedding. So that I can get drunk and cry and at the reception (jk, killary don't worry).
I'm hoping for a BIG seat sale!

I want to throw everything out, spring clean! But the garbage men refuse to pick up anything that's not in the tiny bin and the tiny bin is always full right up from my housemates (who are probably worse house-keepers than I am - can you even imagine?), even right after a garbage day.

I kind of wish I could dye my hair. I've had it almost every colour over the years. And this is the longest I've dyed the same every month...






I don't think I have any to upload where I am very blonde, but I assure you it happened. And probably will again in the future.
For a movie. Ooo that'd be fun.

Okay I'm going to go walk the dog and no that is STILL not a euphemism.
And yes, I am still on babe break and it is going very well, thank you very much.
I'm becoming more mature and responsible and self-controlled by the second.

Forgot to tell you, the other day miss belle woods and I saw the Ashmore Twins at Aunties and Uncles except Belle was so funny because she was like
"there's a babe - ah, man there's TWO OF HIM!!!!"

And also, we mostly recognized them because of this made-for-TV movie one of them did with most of our friends called Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story. We considered going over there and identifying them only from that show
Restrained ourselves!
Congratulations to us!

It turns out the twin from Prom Queen is also the twin from the Smallville episodes in which JTT also starred.

Isn't it kind of funny how everything comes back to JTT?
A little too often for coincidences, I would say.


Looks like fate has its hands all up in my candy.





On a related note, I officially finished all the candy and gingersnaps my mum send in a Valentines carepackage for me.
Sigh.
The chocolate were especially cute, wrapped in foil like ladybugs. Awww.
Included in the package was a whole bunch of fancy china (one of which is seen above), different sorts of dishes, same pattern. So so pretty! And goes so well with another gold and blue plate I have (stolen from Mum as well).
I want to collect enough of this antique(?) fancy china in blue and white and gold, the British variety, to make up an entire set.
Because I'll probably be rich soon with a fancy house and need to do some fancy entertaining but a whole regular set, that just doesn't seem quite like me....

I watched the Oscars last night with Mrs., we were supposed to go to her BF's house to watch with a bunch of people but instead inhaled a giant bottle of wine and ate potato chips from Honest Ed's (weirdly delicious).

Such a good Oscars! Am I right? I wasn't just drunk, was I?
It seemed like a lot of old-world glamour and Mrs. pointed out how beautiful the sets are (she does set dec. and props for film and TV, oh and also just got a job as an assistant on Flashpoint! Congrats Mrs.!), simple and shimmery and all golden and stuff. I thought all the dresses were really lovely and sort of themed, like they all planned it.
SIGH WHEN DO I GET TO GO.
And when do I get to be nominated, also??


Could I love Tina Fey any more? Could I?
It seems impossible, my heart swells at the sight of her... she's so great. I want to get married to her and create comedy gold forever and ever.
And pairing her with Steve Martin to present? Perfect.

And this year I am an ACTRA member in my own right. Kind of fun.


That light you see is our driving force as actors, the passion coming from within. Or possibly our love, hard to say.
Also, it looks like my wine glass is wearing the broach. I assure you that was not the case.

Didn't get there as early as I had wanted (thanks, Tilda) and I didn't chat up any celebrities really, because I was not in the mood. Fun mood, not a picture-taking-with-strangers mood.
The event was held at the Carlu and it's pretty nice, a good size and it was pretty packed, busier than last year, I'd say. Nice theatre for the ceremony and not enough finger foods. The range of outfits was amazing. One woman was there in a full track suit and then there were ballgowns like my friend's above.



Obviously spent some time taking photos of myself in the bathroom mirror. Obviously.

Pretty awkward.

I inspired a lot of people to take their own pictures on this backdrop - whatever, the professional photographers/nominees were done with it, so it was totally our turn. See how it says "My union!" in the background? Yeah-huh.

Thinking about watching the Oscars tonight. First rehearsal and then we'll see. I meant to watch all of the movies beforehand, guess that didn't happen... I do like looking at the outfits though, that's for sure.
And I like scheming what I'll be like when I go to giant awards ceremonies.
This is why I have to learn to walk in heels.

Everyone seems happy and healthy and Tilda Swinton is sort of a bad teenage mum who would rather cuddle with me than the kittens. No, she's good, she just loves me too much.

Looking like three little tabbies, I love how they're like a set right now, from lightest to darkest.
It'll be neat to see their patterns and subtle colours come out. And to see their personalities...


The greyest is #1, the darkest is #2 and the one climbing over is #3.
No certainty on gender yet, I'm kind of just assuming they're all boys. Who knows why.

I was thinking about babe-break and how long it should be and when it should end, etc.
I'm kind of pleased with it lately, but also... missing babes. If you know what I mean.

I've been having jealousy fits lately at well-matched couples. Especially couples in the arts. Especially couples who work well together and inspire each other and create together..

So lucky, those guys.

I am not kidding at all when I say that I could really use a producer/director babe. Or a writer babe, or a photographer babe. Someone who was good for my career is as well as for me.
Man, I need a rich husband...

Anyway, I'm thinking that babe-break should continue indefinitely, until:
a) I meet a babe that I can't-not get involved with
b) A very very fun situation happens

I'm getting way better at not pushing things with people I know I shouldn't get involved with. Still not the best interacter... but still.

Yes, Tilda decided to wait a full 18 hours between kittens! Nice work, Beast.

I actually wasn't worrying too much because she seemed perfectly fine, just sleeping and eating and climbing on my head in the night. She's nursing the other baby fine and stuff, and seemed normal.
And now we have the second one, out and fighting for nipple space, so I feel relieved for sure.
I think there's at least one more in there though, and I hope she doesn't take as long for the rest to show themselves! Oh, yep, here comes the third!

Also, OMG cute.


This is the first one, it's silvery-grey and probably going to be a tabby, I think and is like a soft piece of suede, so lovely...

Did end up going to the ACTRA awards last night, my friend came over and checked up on Tilda Swinton for me, so I didn't feel too badly... Although maybe my leaving was what really delayed everything. I've heard if they don't feel safe, they can delay the labour...

ACTRA awards were fun, though! A bunch of different friends came and we partied down. Didn't get there in time to eat enough of the appies... didn't drink very much really because I am responsible pet owner.
Only hit on a few babes, and they mostly turned out to have gfs... obviously. Man, babes are so into "being in relationships".

Oh yeah, and I wore heels. And my feet didn't kill me (kind of hurt a bit). I never ever ever wear heels, I always feel like I should and then I don't.
I need to start practicing though...
