1 show down, 1 billion shows to go

oh plans oh big big plans oh summer oh big summertimes plans big springtime plans

Dollface just booked her family cottage for a couple of weekends for us this summer and now I can't sit still with anticipation. Kaya the dog will also have the best time ever.

lots of things on the horizon for this summer and I'm excited to see how everything plays out and to see what kinds of adventures we all get to go on. lucky lucky lucky.

(what a fun headscarf! no, mum, you can't have it back)

A few big ups and downs this week but I have to tell you all right now that as of this moment my life is in grrrreat shape and I'm very happy.
And I keep thinking "I'm so lucky" which is a nice place to be in.

WHITE PANTHER GIRLFRIEND had their first show last night and it was so, so fun! so fun! I'm really interested to see the tape and see if it looked as nice as it felt. We did a format called "the livingroom" which involved us sitting and talking and telling real life stories/information and I liked that part a lot. We like each other a lot and are interested in each other's business so that makes things a thousand times easier.
This is a really nice team we have going... and in between practice and show we had a pizza party and man, we can just talk for hours given the chance.

this teammate was so mad about me wanting all the drinks the other day. I deserve all the drinks!

so much comedy stuff these days so many things to see and do and so many plans in my head about how to become a good worker (endless struggle, man).
I'm not working and creating to the degree I would like to be. Not even close.

and, of course, lots of time spent at hoops. I just like watching Canucks games and hanging out with some of the best buds. sue me.
The guy at the far end was grilling me about who are my favourite comedians and how funny I am. He bought me a drink so I let him. He just about blew a gasket when I said I love Gilda Radner. Blew a gasket in a good way.

oh good god what a handsome bunch of assholes I hang out with.

There's not enough time in the days these days! I need more hours because I don't have any alone time lately and I haven't caught up on all my tv shows. Ha, wow. big problems.

elevators and churches

I go back to Toronto on Tuesday first thing in the early early morning.
That means I have the rest of today and all of tomorrow to do things. Like always, there is too much to do and too little time. Though it's especially bad this year because of the shortened length of my trip.
I'm always on the verge of crying. I'm homesick looking around me.

People are always surprised when they find out I've never been out of Canada and I don't own a passport. I can't seriously consider traveling when wherever I am I am homesick. I'm homesick for Toronto right now, and the moment I go back I will feel ill with missing Saskatoon.
I'm lucky to love things like this, I think. But still.

I've spent more time looking at churches this weekend then I ever have before. Do you think if I made a calendar of Saskatchewan prairie churches I could sell it? I regret not bringing my DSLR or even a film SLR with me this trip.
I want to be taking more photos. Better photos.

I have to calm down this fall. I have to cool it. It will be the perfect time and opportunity for me to take better care of myself, both physically, emotionally, creatively, and work-wise.
Remind me to remind my Ossington Dreamhome that we are a dreamhome not a party-all-the-time-home.

This afternoon I'm having coffee with my one of my favourite people since kindergarten. We have almost nothing in common anymore but I love her so much.
I just love who I love so much and that's just what I'm like.

Ottawa is fun!

I'm at Dayna's parents' house alone right now while she and her (lovely) mum are out walking all three dogs (two are Dayna's). So UPDATE TIME.

Now that my headache has faded and I've had some food I'm in the best mood.

Was a bit hung over last night on account of

Ohhhhh Smirnoff Ice. It was actually oddly delicious, I had a weird craving for it. Switched back to beer though. Ughhh beer and then smirnoff. Gross!

okok but before that:

Took Ottawa transit downtown to go and see the Arkells!

The bus was like a fun novelty for us! Especially for Dayna, total flashback town. Buses have such a weird stigma to them but they're actually kind of fun. When you make them an adventure at least.

We totally wienered our way onto guestlist (I threatened to kill myself if they didn't let us in, also offered to disguise myself as Max to be snuck in -- I wish I had to do that) and I was kind of excited because I'd never really been to an Arkells show.
To recap, I am vague buds with a couple of these dudes because they are band-bffs with Sweet Thing and sometimes play together, plus I've owned Dan Griffin's solo CD for about a billion years and it's totally a favourite of mine and of Mrs.'s and of Dayna's actually. So good. And they just seem to be around a lot. Especially at all the stadiums I work at lately.
I've seen bits of their sets in different situations. And saw them played on the jumbotron at Skydome while they were playing the Bills' tailgate party (amazing!) but probably not since they were still called Charlemagne had I seen an actual show.

We got there pretty late and it was paaaacked. So packed! Sometimes I forget that bands are popular!
We only saw a bit of the first band and then at the break we rammed our way up to the front. I lead with my elbows for sure. We tried a couple of different routes, actually, it was pretty hard to get up there.
Made it up the front and parked ourselves good. I only like to be right at the front or all the way at the back out of the crushingness. It's hard being a little guy sometimes!
One time I almost got smothered to death at a Watchmen concert in highschool. haaaa too tiny for rockandroll.

I only have really shit pictures, sorry dudes! Also couldn't really get any of the rest of the band, they were too far. Really I'm just posting these bad photos so that you keep looking at this entry.

I do really like it when they move too fast to be photographed! From all the rocking out.

Arkells put on a fucking good rock show, I'll tell you that for free. I danced and sang and danced and annoyed Dayna with my jumping around but it was worth it because if you're going to enjoy something then you should enjoy the shit out of it, ya know? Full enjoyment.
I knew that they were good, but man, they are so solid and Max's banter is perfect and the clap-alongs are obviously the best. The songs manage to be catchy but not annoying, they are loud but not offensive. Kind of the best mix. Obviously.

We stuck around afterward to make them pay attention to us. I got laughed at for being surprised at how busy it was. I hopefully didn't sound too surprised at how good I thought they were.

Had beers in the green room and I'm pretty sure that Dan was just hanging with us to make sure he didn't have to do any work. I offered to help load. I can do at least 3 push-ups so I feel like my skillz are pretty much invaluable.

cheers to the moon!!

Awwww texting her Sweet Thing husband!
so cute!
She kept showing us all adorable photos of him. We were all like "quit shoving your happiness in our faces!"

Jealz. It's actually super refreshing to hang around with someone so happy and in love with a partner who is actually just as awesome. She's so in love it's kind of amazing, really. Remind me not to settle for anything less.
Ohhh wait, it's me, I don't think I've ever understood the concept of settling.

ANYWAY.
Then we went down onto the stage and danced around (oh yeah, these guys actually had a barricade in front of them. That's what kind of show it was. A barricade show. that's what stopped me from storming the stage.) !
I like stages (no one is surprised).

Yeah I have no idea what's wrong with our faces. Too much fun?

Yep, that must be it.

Dayna was into having her picture taken! She was sooo fun.
Hahaa she was so T.O.ed at me for tweeting earlier that I was party all the time and she was only medium party. But that meant she had to step up and prove her party potential!

Winter is the worst! I'm not even going to bother planning outfits anymore, I always just end up with a jacket over top for most of the evening!

I was happy to have that jacket though when we went outside to watch them load the equipment (I like to watch. prize if you know where that quote is from!).
Freezing rain! so slippery! It was pretty terrible and funny. Day and I decided it made more sense to take transit back (free because her darling parents gave us tickets versus $$$ for a cab) and then the quick walk back from the station was soooo funny. We were slipsliding all over and basically skating down the roads in our smooth boots.
Luckily it was so silly that it was rather fun and exciting.

But yeah. Funtimes. Successful partytowning.
We were a bit worried that the dudes in the band we don't know so well thought we were the creepiest groupies, but I have to say that in this point in my life, I don't really care. I like bands and partytiming.
It's funny how bands on tour are so different than regular hometown shows. It's a different energy or something? Yeah?

SWEET THING TONIGHT.
Which was the excuse for this trip in the first place -- so Dayna could see her husband play! And I came along for the ride because I don't really have stuff to do! And I like fun things. Fun Sweet Things.

And I really liked the fat snow that was drifting down this afternoon. Sighssss.

were you lookin at my girl quit lookin at my girl

I kind of wish that I lived on the ground floor so that I'd be giving out candy right now I really want to see all the little babies in their costumes that's all.
I did see a cute little girl at Nirvana today and she had a cute dad and I was like "I think I'm ready to be a step-mum". Also watching babes interact with kids makes feel a bit insane. Whatever!

Nirvana has the ultimate worst service ever, hey? no but really. it's actually remarkable!
I think I was still drunk at our 4 p.m. brunch. I was also the only one who ordered a bloody mary. to be fair I had been dreaming about that bloody mary for about 1.5 hours prior to actually getting to brunch.

HALLOWE'EN HALLOWE'EN HALLOWE'EN.
ah man I had such a good time last night! Totally fucking did it up right. I laughed SO MUCH. that's how you know you're having fun. the laughing.

Started off at a parkdale house party with Mrs. and that crew hosted by miss Sub Rosa. I ate too many chips and spinach dip so gross I felt sick pretty quickly after that.
My friend who was dressed as Carmen Sandiego came and met me there. Pretty sweet costume but most especially because she acted the part as well. Actors are the best.

We then left to head to Dundas west thinking about hitting up Garrison as swag was there and he said it was fun but on the way we found a big plastic kid's wagon and so Carmen Sandiego was pulling me in it. We needed to get a cab though so we got one and the lovely cab driver let us put the wagon in the trunk!

FUCK YEAH, CAB DRIVER made my night.
so sweet.

We got deposited on Dundas a few blocks away so that Carmen Sandiego could pull me down the street hahahaaaa oh man did I love that I was laughing so hard.

We made Swag come out to see us also we went back and forth in on dundas for awhile but it was lined up so we couldn't go inside.

But that turned out fine because we went and met Norman at a house party basically in the park.
Carmen Sandiego and I took turns pulling each other in the wagon on the way there hahahaaa talking on your iphone while being pulled in a wagon is so silly!

oh yeah we found a bed on the road as well. We sat there for a spell.

We pulled up in front the house and we weren't sure if it was the right place so we yelled up at the people on the balcony and then one of them was like "is that meredith?" so classic! I had no idea who it was at all and they weren't responding. but then we went instead and found Norman and other people and then it turned out it had been Chris Locke yelling at me!
I love Chris Locke! He's too funny.
How the fuck he recognized me I'll never know. Ha, though also I went to drop off Dollface's keys at her work last night and forgot I was in costume and my fav door guy still recognized me. hahaaa I make such a good boy. I'm so sexy.

So, yeah, Carmen Sandiego and I stayed and partied forever.
We went out on the various balconies and climbed ladders up onto the roof. All smart activities like responsible people.

the house was so nice. seriously fucking nice. serious balconies. I'm very very jealous.

We told the one girl who lived there that she could keep the wagon but then when I left I felt like taking it home (I left rather abruptly after noticing that I was too drunk to be allowed around people anymore, actually I don't remember the last bits of interactions with a bunch of people. yikes) so I dragged it for a little while but then ended up depositing it in front of Violet's parents' house for some reason! hahaha ughh sorry parentssss.

I fell asleep wrapped around my computer and with my contacts in. I'm glad I slept for 8 hours because otherwise I would be more of a wreck today I'm pretty sure. What's with this week? it's fuckin' nuts, eh?

Also being in character last night was SO FUN and I got to say things like "Hold on I gotta pick my fuckin' dick up"  obviously.
and I got to leer at everyone pretty much.

Hallowe'en is so fun wearing costumes is the best. I don't know if I'm going to wear one tonight it's so cold out. Yeah I realize that it's actually Hallowe'en but still..
Also I think I lost my mustache

Me and Flash Gordon are going to go to this:

hahahaaaa good video that makes me want to go. not kidding.

OH YEAH I ALMOST FORGOT TO TELL YOU:
Chris Locke admitted to me that he thinks I'm funny.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome.

flash gordon's nuit blanche pictures!

Flash Gordon's photos from Nuit Blanche!

Prune and I were being a bit silly. She arrived at my house in that get up only she was just wearing the leather jacket, not the parka. Obviously after a few blocks I made her switch with me. I, on the other hand, dressed solely for function, not fashion. Layers for years.
We walked our bikes through yorkville. It was nice having the streets closed off. Did I say that already? Probably.
I inspected her legs and her sock/tights which were driving her nuts!

Adding photos using blogger is  pretty much the WORST, hey? Flickr may take longer to input, etc., but man is it easier to deal with.

We made a stranger take our picture!

Flash Gordon and I were both sporting our new glasses!

I try to never be photographed with a cigarette but Flash Gordon assured me that this would make me look "cool", extra funny because she never smokes!
****
I would like to point out that I am not a "smoker" but that I have always, always enjoyed cigarettes. Maybe "enjoy" is the wrong word. I want them so badly and then as soon as I have one I think "ew, why am I having this? I feel gross now." and then awhile later I feel the exact same way again. Extra bad when I'm drinking. Obviously.
This summer's been terrible for a whole bunch of badnews activities, namely cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. I've managed to avoid taking drugs (man, I think I would like all drugs way too much, therefore can't go near them because it'd be such a bad scene) , but whenever anyone is smoking I think "I'd like to smoke, too!"
I don't think about smoking when I'm not around smokers so the easy fix to me ever lighting up is everyone else quitting. DEAL?
***
Thank you very much to my aunt and her new husband for the flask I received as a gift for doing nothing in their wedding! I am putting it to great use!

After yorkville we went down to walk the dog! Flash Gordon said "aren't you going to pick up after her?" and I said "yes, but right now she's only peeing".
I wonder if that is a common misconception for people who don't walk dogs, watching all their owners look away as they pee and think they're being very irresponsible? Hmmmmmmmmm

I love Dasani! Just kidding I hate Dasani but sometimes I get it free at work. Fuck Dasani, my water should not have an ingredients list on it!
We then went to a parkinglot off Ossington where Made By Other People were doing that screening. In the above photo I have a mouth full of popcorn and I flask in hand. Once again, I am fully amazed that I am not engaged to be married yet.
SOMEONE SNAP THIS UP BEFORE IT'S GONE.

The flesh-coloured bit at the top of this guy's face is a really terrifying mask that he was scaring people with. That's actually a party face I have on, though, not a scared one.
Hard to tell the difference.
Then these guys came and met up with us and I HAD ALL THE FUN.

Just kidding, Flash Gordon had some of the fun. Haha, that guy just played it cool.
Then we stopped for more mix and snax! I had several flasks with different kinds of alcohol in them. As well as the sweet tea vodka water bottle. Man, Sweet Tea Vodka is so sweet. Sir Burnett, give me a Sweet Tea Vodka sponsorship!
Product placement.

Then we headed to Trinity Bellwoods where Swagger found this grabbing thing. He was pretty into it.

 So was I, actually....
Then Swag said, "let's climb the creepy tree"
I was uncertain! Man, I used to be so good at climbing. Remember at Redberry (Lac Au Claire? I don't know) when I would shimmy up the poles of the swings all the way up and hang from the top? So fun!
Ughhh why am I even posting embarrassing pictures like this?? man, I weigh as least as much as that guy. I almost ruined the boost by not trusting him. Is that a metaphor for my life??
 Cool!

Just chilling in the creepy tree. The creepy tree is very fun for chilling until you realize how much creepiness there is in there. I'm not just talking about us.

Yeah, this cat was pretty much the weirdest/worst party. What the hell? Who even made this?
Annnyway, Flash Gordon apparently doesn't have many pictures from the rest of the night. Too bad I was hoping for at least one of that 20 year-old (JUST KIDDING).
But here's Cpt. Heh,
And here's my house. A very very very fine house. At 6 in the morning.

If you missed my first round-up and iphone photos, it is here!

Today's good news is that maybe I am not that lazy and depressed maybe I should just have picked up more iron supplements a long time ago!
I also picked up some more B complex which I had run out of, also I've been too depressed to take my vitamins/drink enough water/eat properly/take care of myself. Sort of?
I'm obviously just a giant baby. But I kind of wonder if I have a thyroid problem. I wish I had a doctor!

I made a list of things I need to get done. Now to actually do some of them....
