bad at life job.

Here are some pictures where I look good:

These are all from TIFF I stole them from Dayna's fb. thanks Day!
I wish my face looked like this more. Also I still love that fucking dress. I know everyone is tired of it now but man, it's just so great.
These are my shitty photos from that night. While we're at it.

Hey Meredith, how is your Life as a Job plan working out?

Yeeeeaaahhhhh.

I'm back on the life-job wagon tomorrow I think. Maybe Monday and Tuesday were my weekend? Yes let's go with that.

I have too much of a headache to do anything today. Shouldn't drink so much! That's not good for life-job.

Night before last Dollface and I went out, maybe even drank after-hours with babes and I partied later than I should have.
though, to be fair, I only went out at 1 a.m, because I was busy really working on things. So.. that's good at least.Plus I was having a Good Time and Good Times are not to be sneezed at.
ha, I like the idea of sneezing at something.

These photos are from Mrs.'s birthday party a few weeks ago. I keep forgetting to post them but Dayna (who is newly employed! congratulations!) requested them, so here they are.
Mrs. was being very funny. Actually that was a great hang out night. I loved when people came over to my place afterwards for more drinking and cheese plates. I always have so much cheese. It's like when it's on sale I have to buy it, you know?

Oh yeah so I went out with my crush from grade 4 last night. What a trip! He moved away at the end of grade 4 so obviously we had a bit of catching up to do. Hahahaa grade 4!
I ran into him last year at Dakota luckily he recognized me. Pretty crazy. I'm into nostalgia and getting hung up on the past, but you probably know that about me.
He forgives me for hitting him with a skipping rope. Apparently it's not the worst thing that ever happened to him. Man, I had a sick feeling in my stomach when I thought about that for years and years. No joke.
It's pretty funny to talk about stuff that happened so long ago. And talk about what happened to everyone later in life. Gossip about grade 7, yep.
also it's neat how we're still basically the same people and to think about how tiny we were!

swagger is wearing Mrs.'s glasses and Mrs. is wearing my glasses. Haha glasses parties happen way more than you'd think, hey?

I have no idea what's going on in this photo. But it looks amazing.

cutecute barffff.
Also, I like Dayna's shirt combo so much. Well, she's generally the best at dressing. Hopefully she brings me some nice things at the clothing swap.

These two are from brunch a couple of weeks ago. Man, I'm bad at posting things sometimes.

Okay I'm going to meet miss lindeman for coffee I haven't actually really spoken to her in months like crazy long I'm excited to see her!

as the exhaustion is actually about to fully overwhelm me

IMG_6598

holy holy I am so ridiculously tired that in between comedy acts tonight I almost fell asleep. I feel like I've been angling for a nap for around a year. I keep lying down for 10 minutes and then it just makes me feel even more exhausted.
Except it's only been a few days. And I get to fucking sleep the fuck in tomorrow.
Being busy suits me and doesn't suit me.
On account of the whole needing-time-alone thing that I have.
But I also cannot bear the idea of people having fun without me, so I obviously go out too much.

Luckily I am still young and energetic and LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST. or some other bullshit.

And it's cooled down outside. Which I fully appreciate. August can have this kind of heat, but it's June! I want June freshness!
So soon that I go to Saskatoon! ooohhh I can hardly wait! less than three weeks, which I assume will go by so quick!
WHO WANTS TO GO TO THE LAND TO CAMP WITH ME??
LAKE SWIMMING
BONFIRES
READING BOOKS
SHADE-NAPPING
oh oh oh oh oh oh yeeah.

IMG_6595
(photos from the drake the other night when Raymes and I went to scope babes. Uh huh.)

Yesss anyway, yeah, my second screening went well. And then Mrs and her BF (who is the director of the film and my bud in his own right and he deserves a proper name of his own on here.. but I don't know what it should be) had a yard party.
We got a bit rained-out but stuck it out all huddled around a patio umbrella out back.
So fucking great to sit around talking about projects and getting good feedback and making big plans. Fucking Sigh.

this sculpture (?) was so realistic kind of textured made me feel uncomfortable but it's also awesome. made conversation with some dudes about it while we were waiting for the washrooms. Classic.

Oh, and Violet's convocation was also very fun. I sat in between her parents and they are both So Cute like hard-to-explain-great and her mother and I made a few snarky/funny comments and gossiped. Uh huh.

IMG_6650
Can I please get a tattoo/a job where I get paid to draw snowflakes??

Does it mean that I'm getting older when I feel more and more uncomfortable with profanity?

IMG_6654
brunchasaurus!!
Bee looks badass here, which is fitting since we are rap stars.
Gotta arrange filming of my new talk show; Hot & Cheesy with Meredith Cheesbrough with first special guest, Bee.

Heyyyy you wanna be on my talk show, too?
Are you comfortable if things get hot and/or cheesy??

IMG_6656
Why yes, I do want to punch myself in the face pretty often.

Went to comedy tonight with some pals. Rivoli for the 5th anniversary of Let's Get Hot.
Having a good laugh is probably my number one favourite thing to do.
A good fucking belly-laugh-hyperventilating-incredulous laugh. Yeah, that's what I like. A couple of times tonight I was falling-over-laughing. The best.
Is humour not the most attractive thing, also? So dreamy.
But actually.

IMG_6663
(me and Raymi went out a bunch last weekend but not this week and I miss her awww she's nice. Soon, I bet. Also she had a post recently that included "meredith is right" and it was about internet dating, so that extra wins-me-over).

You know what's a good thing about me?
I like what I like and when I like something I like it so much.
This extends to friends for certain (not babes as much -- or at least not babes who like me, but that's another can of bananas). But also artists, musicians, authors, locations, ideals, comedians.
I like what I like and I like liking things to stupid degrees. I find it rewarding or something.
I like fully committing to liking something/someone.
I like looking to like and appreciating shit.
Ya know?
No?

IMG_6664
haaa dress + glasses
+ dolladolla bills
+ why do I have a smoke?
=seal of approval.

Going to start doing more comedy. I wish I had the patience to become good at something as opposed to splitting focus and never becoming great at anything.
Oh, there's still time!

6.04.2010

worldwide shorts, photos, favourite comedy, etc etc etc bed time

It's Violet's grad tomorrow (from LAW SCHOOL) and I'm going to her convocation and I have to be there at 9 a.m. (shit, son) and so I should be asleep but I'm choosing blogging over that nonsense. Dedication, no??

we eat candies all day in the park!

Oh yes yes so we had the first screening of Hey, George at WWS this afternoon. Luckily we have jobs we are able to get out of/are underemployed so there ended up being a crew of us there. In a nice way.

Since our director was the only director there he got to do the Q&A solo except then he made the mistake of pointing out how me and my co-star, Tanner, were also there (the interviewer said "I believe these two are a real couple, are they a real couple?) and so we got to go up too!
I secretly (not secretly) love interviews and attention so I was perfectly happy to go up. Got a bunch of praise (which, of course, they have to give, but still) and answered some questions. Funtimez!
Me and Tanner are not a real couple. But we did go to college together/have known each other for six+ years so there is an element of complete comfort/love around us. Uh huh.
IMG_6704

Oh yeah before then JL and I went to Aunties for brunch and I had an eggwhite omelet I don't care what they think of me or what happens later.
It was nice. JL is doing well, I think.
He is still tall. I am still overly-small.
IMG_6702
I took these pictures while we were walking. Obviously! My 77 cent umbrella from Honest Ed's is amazing and worth every 77 cent.

IMG_6699
this one is perfect in so many ways:
IMG_6703
Love it.

After the screening we got lead to a "happy hour" that was happening in one of the university buildings where there was a bit of a party including free drinks (!)
IMG_6716
IMG_6726
Tanner went through my camera and deleted a bunch of pictures of himself he deemed unattractive. Sometimes you only get partial-faces that way.
There are so many unattractive pictures of me in this world. Luckily. Balances out all this bullshit hot-shots 'round here.

IMG_6733
just what I was aiming for I am a master artist.

We had to cut out of that to get to a rehearsal - yeah, here's a good tip: be working on something else awesome while you have a screening at a festival because then the world feels awesome like your oyster filled with PEARLS.

You should come to our screening on Saturday because there's a couple of other shorts in our program that are top-notch. For real. The first one especially I am very much looking forward to seeing again. So beautiful.
Plus, with shorts they go so quickly, it'll be nice to have a second viewing of them. For me, at least.
Except the one I hated. That will try my patience again.

Right, right.
After rehearsal we headed back and managed to rush-line-it into the program tonight that was a special Laugh Sabbath/World Wide Shorts night.
So fun!
I am an obvious Laugh Sabbath (especially Let's Get Hot) fan, so I was glad to see this program. Basically all of my favourite Toronto comics in short films! Plus some stand-up! Plus some appetizers!

The curator of the festival remembered me from A Small Thing which screened at WWS two years ago (she insisted one, but it must be two years now. it must.) and she gave us some drink tickets! So nice!

I've pretty much friended Chris Locke and Nathan Fielder, which pretty much makes my day as I find them a little too funny. I know I've posted videos of theirs on here before, but you should listen when I tell you about how good they are.

this is one of the shorts (that I paid good money to see and you can see for free right now embeded on my blog!) that killed me tonight. So great.

okay okay okay okay okay

Basia Bulat into Beachhouse into Beastie Boys -- recently played in order of artist. kind of perfect.
Clipse coming up what happened to that boy
