too hot to write too hot to breathe

Oh, thank god.
It's a decent temperature in here right now. It's almost a bit chilly in shorts. I am in love with it.

I am the kind of guy who just doesn't deal well with heat. No one is surprised about this. I have a snowflake tattoo for shit's sake.

(all healed, now!)

when I was biking home from work in the afternoon of the hottest day of the year I forsure thought I was going to die.
I get awfully claustrophobic with the idea that I never get cool again, that I'm going to burn alive and not be able to do anything to stop it. Do not like.

this is the view from how I was lying on the floor in my room with my neck over the ineffectual AC vent. Not a bad hangout spot.

Loving In The Name Of was super extreme heat, too. I still managed to stick it out until past last call, of course. but I couldn't dance like I really wanted to dance. Also, I don't think I've ever sweated as much as I have this week. I wish I was a person who looked good in the heat instead of being one of those guys who gets so crimson that it makes everyone worry for my health and safety.

Went fence-jumping, pool-hopping afterward, though. So cold, the coldest I've felt that pool to be, I think. And lots of nudity (righton), and probably 60 or 70 people in there doing way too many dives into fairly shallow water.

in the morning Onesie and I were whining around on my bed, eating hard day-old cotton candy and dill pickle cripsy minis and I remembered that I'd won a gc to Lakeview so we wandered around the corner to use that up.

I love that a popular kind of text message I get these days is "when will you be home? I miss you!" or even better, "when will you be home? I'm making dinner!"
above photo is dinner Onesie made for me this weekend. I have no idea how to describe it and then I'd probably do it wrong and she'll be mad, but it wasn't like anything else I'd eaten. Super good.
something about ginger and rice and yogurt and green salsa and chickpeas and carrots and raw radishes... sort of like a curry but without curry? yeah. I know.

My life fully revolves around food. In the best way?

All we do is have people over and entertain. I'm not sick of it yet, though I am feeling a bit overwhelmed? Who can tell. I still love here.
Cheespie came over yesterday afternoon for hangs and I painted a bit and we made this big snack platter:

SNACK PLATTER ARE THE SMARTEST BEST IDEA
there's really nothing better. So many different things to eat and you can pick at it forever. Maybe this works especially good for me because I am a slow and pick-at-it eater and I like to take my time.
that bowl of beans are lupin beans or some shit that you can find at corner stores around here and even at Metro and they are salty and you just eat them straight and such a good snack. Also, a babe brought me the cherries, so think about that! Ha.
Anyway, we ate the shit out of this and watched a movie and drank beer/cider and had chats.
Onesie went to work but came back 3 hours later and we were still chilling the fuck out, so she joined right back in. Which meant it was time for bloody marys, obviously.

I took it easy besides just drinking on the patio with some of my favourite ladies last night. Actually, I didn't leave the house at all yesterday. Notbad notbad.

these are the only two photos I took of Flash Gordon and I at Spoke Club on Thursday for her brother's birthday. Too bad, we looked cute. We had a relax night there, just lots of lounging around on benches and talking about life.

My tan is coming along nicely.

I use the term "tan" here pretty loosely. I haven't burnt at all really this summer. I hear that burning is the worst. Light tanning is only medium bad. I'm only trying to tan to see if I actually can. So far: Not really.

I'm considering getting around to leaving the house now. I maybe will do some good errands. That'd be so good of me. Yeah yeah, I'm responsible. I'm going to go get things done!

peachy beachy, on the verge of sunstroke possibly

IMG_7278
urugh I got a sunburn on my nose which serves me right as I am not very smart at all and for some reason I decided that sunburns only happen when I'm sitting still in the sun. Not so!
I forgot to put on sunscreen this morning and I was biking around soooo much all day and walking around and all that.
Also, I just got my hair done and it's a quite dark shade of bright red and now my nose matches most perfectly!
HOW SPLENDID.

Bee and I sincerely meant to go to the island this afternoon and it just never quite happened. I cannot function in this heat! Plus I had some important appointments and Bee had some important meeting and then we just ended up lying around in Bellwoods for about a year.
I don't even really regret not going to the island because I am still lethargic and lazy and a bit irritable.
Plus I was just there, really (as evidenced in these photos).

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
oh so classic classic!

Okay actually, now that I look at these photos I do kind of regret not-going.

Ha, Violet hates ducks. I was pretty impressed with how close this one duck was getting and Violet was like "ew"
hahaaaaaa it seems like something that she wouldn't hate but then there it is, that's what I like about people. How everyone is a nutjob in their own special way.

Today is my friend's birthday. I don't believe that he has his own nickname on here so I will try to figure one out for him today to honor him properly.
I made him a card with a picture of a truck on it.
Man, I hope he doesn't read this before I get over to his house to give it to him.

Fleet Foxes, hey? I'm very late to this bandwagon but preeeetty good.

The red bull from the Red Bull restaurant in Radisson. Radisson is where you turn off to go to Redberry Lake. Redberry Lake is my lake.

At the Red Bull we bought those peanut butter marshmallow squares that are the besssst ever. I should just make some. If I didn't have to go to work right now I would. Certainly.

Oh yeah yeah yeah I'm back in Toronto and WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THIS HEAT??
I just don't like it I don't find it funny anymore, it's not great it's just stupid now.
if I didn't have AC I would probably want to die right now.

But I just had delicious nutritious brunch at Aunties and Uncles with my pals and so I'm still happy to be back.
Also Noodle, Niki and Cpt. Heh picked me up at the airport and Niki made a feast and sangria and we went to the park and Niki and I stayed there talking until probably after 4 in the morning but it was still hot out.

And last night Noodle and I went to Camp 4 which was SO HOT in a technically hot way and there were allllll these good-looking sweaty people, especially men with tattoos and sexy ladies wearing little clothing. It was so hot it felt like a sauna or a joke but it was almost okay if you had a pint of ice-water to put against your wrists to cool the blood a bit plus everyone all melty and sexy like that is pretty appealing?

Summer has pretty much gotten all up my heartbeat and I'm eying up the city and wanting to press my forehead against your back and wanting to hold hands with everyone for a year.

what what in the butt

I just went and took my broooken bike to Bikes on Wheels in Kensington and I told the babe there that I didn't want it to be broken anymore. And the babe told me it was extra broken and that I should take it to Red Arrow bikes in the alley by Exile because the dude could fix it there for cheaper. The babe also told me that he didn't want me to break my pretty face because of the broken wheel, and I agreed. I also do not want me to break my pretty face.
So I went to Red Arrow and the babe from Bikes on Wheels had called the other dude to let him know I was on my way! How awesome is that?

Ughhh. I may or may not have been wearing a pretty low-cut shirt. Ha, who'm I kidding? It's me! When do I ever have my cleavage covered properly?
But still. That's alright. I'm sure it had nothing to do with anything.

Whatever, still really nice babes.

One time I dropped my phone into a glass of whiskey at Dakota one time, but I'd forgotten how that happened until today.
See -- I wanted to keep the glass of whiskey safe while we went out for a cigarette so I decided that I should lay my phone across the top of it to keep it covered up!
Of course!
Keep the whiskey safe from bad people by laying a valuable and personal electronic over it!

I cannot believe that phone still works with all the shit I've put it through. I don't think I can ever get an iPhone (no matter how I lust after them) because I would have to not throw it on the ground and stuff.

It's too hot and I'm beeeeet beet red. My hands are really too sweaty to use the computer.

Remember when I didn't have air conditioning? I do, but I don't want to think about it.

I WANT TO GO TO THE LAKE PLEASE TAKE ME TO THE LAKE?

Dear New Boyfriend,
I hear you have a cottage and a car and are very good in the sack. I hear you like red-faced women with little decency. I hear you enjoy My So-Called Life and drinking in the park.
Let's meet up!

Tilda is licking my ankles. I think they taste salty.

Gross me out the door.

I feel like PARTYING again.
I want to go to Bellewoods after work with Kaya so you should come too and we will have a Partytown.
And I will be the Mayor.
Mayordith.

things will never smell the same

Apparently it feels like 41 degrees out there. I'm for sure not going out of here until I have to.
I have to work for the first time in around a week. Man I'm lazy.
First time turning on the AC this year.

I can't believe that they are discontinuing my perfume!
I seriously can't believe it.

Dear Everyone I Know,
Guess what I want for my birthday/Christmas? It's lemon vanilla eau de toilette spray from Fruits and Passion. And it's selling out right now, so you can just go right over there and buy some (the big bottles please, I'm stocking up for my lifetime) and then you'll be all set to make my holiday season a delight! Lucky you!
No, seriously though, I promise to not be mad if all I receive is lemon vanilla perfume. I don't have any real interest in any of the other products, just the eau de toilette.. Which I need. Badly.
Please?
Thanks!

I got my internet cheque yesterday from the gum commercial! yaayayay. Now I'm not so ridiculously, terribly broke. And I don't feel as bad for being lazy. Even though I should.

I want to get another lens for my camera! That would be fun!

I still haven't done my taxes.
JFYI.
And I'm avoiding calling Bell. I hate dealing with any of these companies.. it makes me want to barf. Onto my own face. And then smear it around.

Well, that was actually way less painful than I thought it was going to be.
ATTN: everyone who has a cellphone with Bell Canada:
Unlimited Canadian long distance minutes Saturdays and Sundays for only $5!!!!!
Why had I never heard of that before?
Oh right, they hide the good plans and features from you.
Everyone expect weekend phone-call catch-ups from me. (Except for how stupid busy I am but still.)

My mum is in Ottawa for today and tomorrow (coming back to see The Late Late Horror Show) so I have my room to myself and I am doing a whole lot of nothing. Cutting off more bits of hairs (too much, maybe?), surfing the nets, eating sushi left-overs.

We went shopping yesterday and then for sushi (mum loves tempura), then we went to see Then She Found Me. I think the Now Magazine review of it was pretty dead-on three 'N's not 4. It was quite good though, and the emotions do creep up on you. It was surprisingly drab, visually, and had a tired soundtrack (Iron and Wine, seriously? While she's naked even? Come on.), but Helen Hunt was rather lovely, Matthew Broderick delightfully wienery, Bette Midler nicely over-the-top, and Colin Firth pretty attractive.
And a good movie to see with your mum because it's all about mothers and daughters.. very appropriate.

After dinner mum went home and I went for a beer with my bff at Ted's. We sat on the back patio and it thundered and lightninged but it didn't rain. Nice.

Tonight I have to party since I have no mum to take care of. But first I have to work and I have to work early-ish tomorrow morning. Booooooooooooooo.
