dressing more fun! using pinterest!

Carla Ghee, Norman, and I were sitting in the front window at Squirrelly's the other afternoon and these girls walked by and Carla Ghee and I were like "those girls look FUN!" and we broke it down that they were wearing lots of prints and scarves and scarves in their hair so now we're taking it upon ourselves to start dressing more fun so that when people see us they will immediately know how much fun we are and how we like to party forever.

Look how fun these girls look! they are having the best most free times ever!
I had pinned this photo a week or two ago so I was already in the mind-frame of how fun to be I just hadn't put it into action. I did last night though:

(awww Yulie)
I look so fun!

also hilarious was that I was wearing these printed shoes as well and Carla Ghee was wearing prints and her very own headscarf headband!

it was the best because we hadn't really discussed how committed we were going to be to this new plan but then really followed through!

see I'm having extra fun because of how I'm dressed I bet. Yulie is also wearing a printed scarf so there you have it!

obviously when going to dress fun you should look to your friends for inspiration:
all photos below hijacked from Dayna's instagram stream!

 prints!!! colours!!! jewelry!!!

Man, I think Dayna has me topped in terms of self-portraits! Unfair!
(I'm not even competing in any way fashion-wise)

Yep, a guiding light, a beacon of how to dress fun!
Nice work, lady!
I have to go in search of the best prints!

Yesterday I did another thing off pinterest, I made individual baked oatmeals. Sort of like oatmeal muffins but a bit heavier and different... I got the recipe from sugarfreemom.com but then I just changed everything anyway (as I do).

BAKED OATMEAL

first blend
1 banana - mashed
2 eggs
2 cup un-sweetened applesauce
1/2 cup brown sugar (she called for stevia or honey, I didn't have any)

then add
5 cups rolled oats (she called for old fashioned I used quick)
1/4 cup flaxseeds (she called for flaxseed meal, I only had flaxseeds)
1/2 cup Red Mill Wonderful Gluten-free hot cereal (I forget the actual name of this, I just had it in my cupboard, you could not use it but it is good for you that's why I put it in)
1 tbsp. cinnamon
(I also added a bit of ginger and nutmeg because why not)
1.5 tsp. vanilla (I love vanilla)
1 tsp. salt (yeah, sea salt is the best!)
3 tsp. baking powder

then
2.5 cups skim milk (you could use any kind of milk I bet!)

then it's really runny pretty much and you put it in cupcake liners (top it with things you like if you want or all blueberries in there or whatever, up to you, you're a free man) and bake it at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
NICE.
Thanks, Pinterest!

OKAY I HAVE TO GO TO ISLAND NOW BECAUSE MY LIFE IS THE FUN KIND OF LIFE.

mixtape club, autumn edition!

Mixtape club this weekend at this bud's house.
I was trying to remember if he has a nickname on here but I'm not sure he does. I called him Dad the entire time we were filming A Small Thing. But that's probably not a nickname that would be easy to explain every time on here...
He wants a princely nickname. Haahahaaaa. classic.

nice

crazy!

Mrs got engaged to Arrow after the last mixtape club which was held at their house. well, the next day. Maybe the two aren't related but maybe they are maybe mixtape club is magic!
Guess who gets to be in the wedding?? THIS GUY. eeee eeee. did I say that already? Maybe I did. Oh well, I'm still excited about it. For an always single kind of a guy, I sure love weddings! also I have a sneaking suspicion that this wedding is going to be out-of-control tasteful and beautiful. Also it is Ukrainian Catholic which means I get to go to church!

Food this time was super good! Haaaaaa as opposed to every other Mixtape Club. I need recipes for everything. Especially the trifle. Fucking so good. gluten-free almond cake up in that shit, ya know? And raspberries and rhubarb! ugh so good.
Yeah no, I'm hungry again forever if that's what we're having.

I'm hosting next and we're trying to find a date where everyone can come. It's the worst! Why do we all suck at being available?

Plan is to do a Cheesbrough Christmas brunch sort of a thing. Probably starting much later than we actually do on Christmas and maybe involving more booze... but similar foods and Christmas spirit, I hope!? It'll be bigger if all my roommates are home, too... can't very well ask them to leave... or can I?

Today? Just watching TV and making crafts, ya know? why the eff not.
I haven't even started decorating for Christmas at all which is kind of bananas since it's into November now and Hallowe'en is really done and so I actually finally have full license to f this place up Christmas-wise. UH HUH.
Maybe I'll get into that this afternoon....
I have a banister to decorate! YES.
Though I will say part of the problem is that I am insanely broke and so even a trip to the dollar store to get christmassing is kind of out of the question. Luckily I have almost every craft supply known to man so I should be able to pull something out of my butt? Hopefully!

the best is when you get a job and then you have to buy new clothes for it which cost a lot of money and also they are on a once a month pay schedule so you're still pretty much effed but you shouldn't be effed because you have jobs!
ughh. classic.

Okay me and Yule-log are going to make a big stirfry now!

dance like no cameras are watching

For some reason Vevo won't let me embed a video here, but I can on Facebook? That's dumb. Anyhow, this:
is the new Arkells music video for Kiss Cam
which features me and Onesie dancing rather sweetly (compared to our normal obnoxious moves!) near the end. We look darling, actually.
You're welcome Arkell buds for the use of our image. Had no idea it was being filmed (may or may not have been right wrecked)!
Luckily I actually really like Arkells, though (spoiler!) I'm 99% certain it wasn't actually that song I was dancing to.

I went to Boston Pizza with Killary tonight for one of our typical Valentines dates. Did you know they have gluten-free crusts there?! And it looked to be the same prize as reg. Nice nice!
I had one and it was not-bad. It wasn't the best pizza crust I've ever eaten but it was totally fine.

Also they told us that "Paralyzer" cocktails were on special. I have never, ever heard anyone in Ontario ever mention a paralyzer. Is it just a Sask thing? They are popular here for sure, I remember hearing about them when I lived here. I don't think I had ever tried one before so I had to order one.
Here is what happened:

Actually, it wasn't as bad as my face makes it out to be. Only mostly terrible!
Totally worth it for the cultural experience. Obviously.

I feel like I got nothing done today! Maybe because I didn't drive out of town?
I went to a scrapbooking store, I visited Killary's baby, had coffee with a lovely friend, ran into a couple of people I know, had dinner with Killary and even read a bit of my book. Aaaand I'm supposed to go out with Consti later........

I had a bad stress headache this afternoon, so much to see and do in this town and it's making me so sad to think about leaving so soon!

ughgughhhh does anyone want to pay for me to live in both places at once?

condominium life

Stayed at Dollface's this weekend with Kaya. Dollface has the best bed. It's like my cloud-bed only way better.
For Christmas I would like a pillow-top mattress cover type thing. Whatever those things are called, that's what I want.

I was supposed to go to the cottage this weekend with Yulie and Onesie but I ended up backing out. Weird, hey? All I like are cottages.
I'm just over-socialized to the degree where I can't properly deal with humans and I can't properly spend any time alone. It's a rough spot, mentally, for me right now.
I'm having trouble spending any actual time actually by myself. I'm so easily swayed into conversations and passive hang-outs with my roommates. And there's all my other friends, plus work, plus improv (classes, shows, and clinics) and all my new improv buds.

I don't remember how to read a novel or sew a dress. I don't know how to blog or stay in by myself to just chill the eff out.

I stayed in on Friday night but only because I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do and I still was texting everyone trying to find the perfect thing to do and then I got sucked into watching a billion bridal shows... It wasn't productive alone time. Still good, though.

I just cut my hair I cut maybe 2.5 inches off, I don't know. No one will notice except me. it feels very short now. It was a bit ratty. Now it is very soft and looks slightly thicker (my hair is never even close to thick).

Violet is back in town, she was in Europe for most of the summer as she deserves a break before going back fulltime for now on and forever at her law firm.
I love Violet like whoa.
I'm going to try to hog all of her attention until she goes back to work. Because I deserve it. Also, she's so low-stress and interesting to hang out with.

I made these cupcakes for her dinner party last night. I posted the recipe here, they are almost one half cheesecake these days and I like that A LOT.
Honestly these are so good and so easy. Got a gluten-free bud? They'll love you forever if you make these for them.

Planning on going to The Ex today with Dollface... I've never been to the Ex in Toronto. I wonder if Dollface will go on any rides with me. I wonder if there'll be anything I can/want to eat....
