I feel like it's almost dawn, but really the bars are still serving

I'm drinking hot almond milk with a mint tea bag and some sugar. It's amazing. It might be better if it were soy milk instead, but either way it's pretty damn nice.

For a bit here I was just feeling so so sad. I made my mum talk me down a bit though.

It's mostly just that I hadn't spend time alone in so long, I think. I wasn't in a bad mood at all about it, and I had a super good time in Ottawa with Dayna that's for sure.
I know that I need to make sure to have alone time and if I don't I get stressed. And so I'm just a bit stressed. Got home from Ottawa then went straight to work then went out after work, slept, worked again and then went up to a fun Christmas movie-watching binge-eating party.
All of these things are super fun and great, it's just a bit overwhelming sometimes. I really do need to recharge at some point. Like right now. I'm glad I didn't decide to go out tonight.

Although maybe I shouldn't have watched The Family Stone, I was warned that it was sad, but man, it's pretty sad. I liked it, though. Not the best ever but parts I liked a lot. I liked that the characters weren't all easy and obvious, and I didn't like how it wound up being a pretty formulaic romantic comedy in the end.
Also I've never heard "Meredith" used so many times in a film! they say it so much!

I should write a Christmas movie. Obviously.

I asked my mother to tell me straight if I sound like a crazy person (bear in mind that she reads my private blog plus I talk to her more than I talk to most people) and she said that I didn't really. She also pointed out that everyone sounds crazy, and that if I weren't sounding crazy then I wasn't influenced by society enough.

Too true, too true.
Society is not on the side of sanity.

I caught part of an episode of something along the lines of Bulging Brides (I think?) on TV the other day and it made me more furious than I've been in awhile. It was basically brides trying to fit into dresses, exactly like what it sounds like. Awful. Except, also, the woman in this particular episode happened to be pretty much my same size and weight.
WOW. wowwww. What kind of shitshow culture do we live in where someone who is a size 4/6 can't be happy with themselves?
I have definite body image issues and have been "trying" to lose weight for years now, but that is pretty much only because I'm an actor and am held to different standards. Standards which I do not agree with but have a hard time not worrying about.
I think I have a good regular woman body. It is not the ultimate beach body but it is kind of appealing and curvy and it works well and it's mine. And if I weren't an actor I would hope that I would be happy with it.
I mean, I am happy with it for the most part. I want to be happier.
It's hard when there's stuff like that shit reality tv show coming at you from every direction.

Same thing with love and relationships. I would be kind of crazy if I weren't boy-crazy. Society tells me I have to be. It's not really an option in our culture to be single and happy. That's never shown, there are no ads with single people who are happy and carefree. There's no leads in TV shows who are happiest alone or calm about being single (no women at least?). That's never portrayed, so obviously I have my issues with it.
I think this is partly contributing to feeling lately like I am a sane, rational person stuck inside a crazy brain. I feel sometimes like my brain is broken it goes around and around and around the same subject, just wears me out about things. I cannot seem to take any of my own good advice or rationally decide courses of action or wrangle my feelings.
And I feel like my instincts get more and more messed.

No, I'm still mostly alright. And I mostly know what's what, I just maybe pretend not to sometimes. It's easier that way.
If only every little thing weren't such a big overwhelming deal to me. I need to learn to take it easy sometimes. At least I'm also having a billion of fun most days.

New boots from Value Village. I'm not sure if I'm sold on them. Except I already bought them.

r & r & r & r

Yeah I'm not going out tonight. Yeah I'm so tuckered out and over-socialized.
Can't stop yawning.

Dakota last night then Lakeview with Dollface, kind of fun. Mmm veggie burger with sauteed mushrooms mmmm yesss.
But then the cat woke me up at 8:30 and then they started doing construction on the roof over my head at 10 so... you know... didn't get all my beauty sleep.

Did my friend's photos today, pretty fun. Like shooting people. I have a tendency to laugh a lot while I do it but that's because I'm enjoying it I guess or something.

Aaaanyway, so I did leave my house for awhile and I have been getting stuff done all evening and I think I deserve a little rest and relaxing. Maybe put on a pot of tea maybe have a few little perogies or something. Could be anything. I'm wild and crazy!

I want to watch a movie on the internet. Which movie should I watch? I'd like a comedy. A romantic comedy that is also good. Do those exist?

NXNE picks coming up very soon. Ahhh man, so many good shows I'd love to see but also so little time kind of.
One pick will definitely be The Mark Inside (long time faves best sorts of dudes), and here is an article by the lead Mark Insider in the National Post http://www.nationalpost.com/arts/story.html?id=1697332.
Neat-o.

P.S. - Don't forget to come out to our wedding reception tomorrow!

All I eat is guacamole!

Busy busy busy busy busy week/weekend. That's why my house is a mess (I tell myself).
Now I have many days off in a row! So excited!
I'm finally going to kick this cold. I can feel it!
I've not managed to pass this cold on to anyone and I feel like it's a mystery cold that my body made up and I don't know why I still have it it is not fun or anything.
Hurty.

Wow even in the past couple of hours since I started writing this entry my days off have just filled themselves right up. Annnnnoying but also good?
It's good to be busy and have stuff going on (especially when it's things like preparing for shows, taking photos, and having auditions) but at the same time, I need a few moments to do laundry, sleep all the time, sew some more dresses, write some blog entries, etc.
Wishful thinking.

Comedy last night we went to see the 4th anniversary of Let's Get Hot at the Rivoli and I laaaaughed and laughed. I love laughing!
I so badly want to be best friends with all of them forever. Also want to date every funny guy I ever see. Because that's what's dreamiest about babes, I think.

Here's a video from a couple of the awesome people who performed last night:

Dakota after and it was not crowded and pretty fun. Scoped some babes and chatted with some friends. Danced for a moment or two. Not bad, not bad.

Ohhh but I definitely got told that having never been in a long-term relationship is
my fault/my decision.

Classic.

You know what, to some degree, yes. I have decided that if I am unhappy in a relationship then I am going to end it. I get along well being single and if a relationship is more trouble then it's worth then I'm getting out of it.
Ugh but the self-righteousness of that statement irritated me, I'll tell you that much.

OOoooookay have to go be busy some more now.

thinking back on bits of relationships
I've had
it always seems
as though they are misplaced awkward bits of a life
that's not quite mine
and when I am back to being alone, that is what makes sense

I hardly remember to be lonely because
I'm so busy being on my own

I still feel like I've done absolutely nothing

I keep forgetting if I've told you things or not!

On Christmas night we were over at my aunt's house for dinner and it was delicious and I was sitting beside a set a shelves filled with (beautiful) knick-knacks and there were a few pocket-watches (I know, a few, right?) and so I picked up the most beautiful one of all and promptly asked for it*. And my aunt said I could have it! And so I took it! And it's beautiful!

pretty pretty pocketwatch

It's from my grandad's estate (he hit up a lot of auctions and was the best of hoarders [the living room floor in one (1!!!) of his junk-filled houses even caved in]), it's an antique, I should go get it tuned up and appraised maybe. But it is just beautiful. It has a tiny bird engraved on the back along with flowers all over and also the intials CMM which are almost like mine.
I love it.

*I find it funny to wander through people's houses asking to have the things that I like. I have a hard time asking for things in general therefore this joke is extra funny to me. I also like to wander through and ask "how much did that there set you back?" about pretty everything. Even wives.

I've been in a terrible mood today and yesterday and have not left the house. Which is good actually because I've been needing alone time and also I am broke, so it kind of works out.
But I've just been feeling sad sad. And also tired. And sort of hopeless about things. I know that this is partly hormones and that this too, in time, shall pass.
But,
you know.

I have been being productive though.

I'm almost done completely sorting and updating all of my flickr sets
flickr.com/photos/etpuis
I even made a Most Favourite set, where you can revisit the pictures of mine that I like the very most.

I made cookies!
(and only ate four of them)

I edited a tonne more of the photos from Christmas
(and even uploaded a few)

I wrote
(both here and for my prose stuff and even comedy)

I drew
(want to be much better at that sort of thing)

I cleaned the house
(I wasn't even expecting to, it just sort of happened)

I applied to some jobs

I played with Rudyard who is leaving me tomorrow! Silly beast!

I finished one novel (The Stone Angel, which opened the floodgates)
and started another (Highways and Dancehalls, which has been keeping them open)
I'm pleased to be reading again, to fully immerse and not arise for a few hours. It's been too long since I've done that.
I go through phases where I get convinced that I will never read novels again. I spend far, far too much time on the internet and watch the television.
I also get scared that I'm not smart enough for books, that I won't understand them, that they will bore me and I will be disappointed in myself.

I do love reading though. So, so much.

I'm going back to it now, in fact.
Tomorrow will be a better day. Or at least hopefully not one where the cat follows me around while I weep.

alone timez = party timez

Alone time is fun time!!!

I mean, I have to settle into it but then.... PLEASURE

ah aloneness and quiet and making up things in my head and books and internets and lying around in the bath for awkwardly long times and today for some reason I was flapping my arms like a lunatic whilst giddy-upping across the apartment and then I realized that that was what I was doing and I laughed. And then every time I thought about it I laughed some more.

Maybe coffee puts me in a good mood for a full day? Or maybe I'm just naturally happy today.

I was a good customer service person today. I could feel it. That's nice. I like when I able to be nice and friendly and engaged and not a whiny little simp like I usually am.
OBVIOUSLY.

Yesterday at work for some reason I was talking to my co-worker about intimate business (I know, not like me at all) and I said something about maybe not being as careful about condoms because, quote, "I just wanted him to like me"
and then I fell over onto the ground laughing because I'm the stupidest person I've ever met and I sounded like a shitty after-school special in the best/worst way.
(p.s. that didn't even ever really happened I don't know what I was on about, maybe I was trying to look cool... ahahahahhhhhhhhhhhha.)

I just reread a couple of entries I wrote recently and goddamn do I have bad grammar. Sorry about that, guys. If you want you can post comments correcting me!
Fun Timez For Everyone!

(don't just say there are too many errors for words, that's unhelpful)

Oh, hey, I bet I never posted pictures on here of the umbrella I made for my mother because it was a secret until Christmas.. but now Christmas has passed :( :( :(
mum's umbrella

i sure painted this umbrella
Aw, sorry guys, are you now sad that I didn't make one for you for Christmas? Okay I will I guess.

(which ended up not working with their computer because it is soooo old and Mac is bitchy about things like that)

IMG_0594
IMG_0592
And other ones!!!
Because I am fancy like that.

I've had to pee for at least 45 minutes but I want to finish this post first!!!

You might be able to tell that I am feeling pleased with myself today. I am. I ate real healthy and stuff and walked both ways to work and was sooo tired when I got home but in a nice way and there was a big snowfall on my way down but it was quite beautiful and I have good winter boots for once in my life...
Sighs.

If I only had all the money to pay off my in-debts then this life would be a very, very good life to be living.
Time to book another gig, I guess.
