time passes, apparently

I went by White Squirrel the other day for a coffee when I was walking Kaya and the owner used to be one of the owners of Aunties, and you know how I feel about Aunties (home) and so I was saying "hi how are you" to him and he asked me if I was still making zines.
Strange how time passes and I don't do things that used to be so ingrained in who I was... Not that making tiny magazines and forcing my friends into reading them was who I was, but it was definitely an interesting passtime.
It gave me the first real excuse to take photos and the self-imposed deadline I needed to actually get stuff written. Also, it made me feel like a real writer for the first time.

anyway. time passes, things change. I should write more. Broken record.

Carla Ghee came up with calling her line-up of babes her Roster.
on a scale of 1 to 10 how jealous am I that I didn't come up with this? 100% jealous.

She is into deciding if people are on or off the roster and speaks of "bringing one up from the minors".
Amazing.

My roster is fairly calmed down these days. I have a few crushes but nothing to go bananas over. No one really stepping up to the plate.

Though, I have to say, the lack of romance in my life is astounding.
I'm not expecting candles and flowers and picnics by the sea but JESUS CHRIST how about texting before 3 a.m.?

Ha. I mean, even if I have no interest in dating you I would still like the common courtesy of being asked out for a drink if you are interested in hanging out at all. Or even just being contacted prior to last call. God, I am so demanding.
ha. It is a fine line, though, hey?
Anything casual is a super difficult situation to wrangle. I go through phases where I think it could be a good idea.. and also not.
Needs both parties to not care enough and care enough. Be comfortable enough.. Nearly impossible to work out, I think.

It'd be nice to go on a date someday. But who am I kidding?

Haaa, man, first world problems, hey?

I'm definitely using this blog entry to avoid looking at the scripts I have open waiting for me to make them perfect.
I didn't go out tonight. Came home after work. Totally the rain's fault. Which is just fine. Maybe I could get into a one-night-in one-night-out pattern?
Yeah right.

I was thinking I'd only go home one time before Christmas (the past couple of years I've been going every 4 months or so) but now I'm getting to the homesick part and I'm not sure that just one visit is the best plan.

Give me prairie fields, give me redberry lake, give me rains that you can see coming for miles.

passion is passion

On Breanna's blog a few weeks ago she was addressing how sometimes her over-excitement about babes causes them to not like her anymore and how she needs to hold back sometimes and learn how to cool it and take it slow.

I think this is a valid standpoint and a valid worry. And I think a lot of us have this fear and concern.

But I also think it's not that simple.

(my voice teacher in college was super, super against "you" statements but I'm not sure how to phrase some of this otherwise, I'm just stating my opinion.. plus it's about time I took my voice teacher off that pedestal and stop having a long-lost crush on him still, gosh.)

So, okay:

Smothering someone and contacting them every few minutes in a way that you wouldn't even do to your best call-me-every-five-minutes friend is irrational and obviously a bad idea. Being upset at someone because they have other friends and other commitments and are legitimately busy, is also crazy (though if you suspect that they are not being as forthcoming about possible other involvements or how they maybe don't like you enough, then you're probably right. instincts = right so much of the time.)
Expecting someone to make you their #1 priority right off the bat is also pretty ridiculous (this is what I do).

If you are panicking about whether or not they like you then take a breather. Back off and figure out what you actually feel.
(classic meredith)

If you feel like you are trying to force them into something or they are just not interested in the same way then you're probably right (again something I need to be told from time to time. also everyone I know).

Violet's favourite thing to say to me is "That guy sounds like he sucks!" and she's usually ridiculously right.
If this person is already being bad news and you barely know them, then what's the point!?

This goes back to my theory that you actually know inside what's going on.
You can run it past as many friends as you'd like (15 friends if you are me) but you still know what's going on. I mean, if your instincts are still intact and haven't been completely mangled by this life/shitty involvements/dating books/bad advice.

You cannot trick someone into actually liking you. Also cannot trick someone into actually dating you.

We can, however, delay the part where we have to admit that it's not going to work out.

Useful tactics include:

1. playing games

2. being rude and standoffish (aloof to put it classily)
(hahaa classssssic. also, this is just a form of game-playing, obviously)

3. offering sex without commitment
(in hopes that since we are having sex that means we are actually about to fall in love. This is the most common thing that seems to happens in my circle. Are we really this naive? Yes.)

Purposefully playing games and monitoring your actions and getting advice on every sentence you say / every text you send is also a bit nutso.
I mean, yeah, take things slow if that's what you need right now and how you actually feel like going about things. Or if you feel like that is what the other person actually needs (for whatever valid reason).
But I feel like drawing things out and hiding what you feel and pretending you don't care only delays the inevitable realization that you are not meant to be together.

Or, WORSE, you could end up in a situation like one of my best friends where in retrospect they realized that they both thought it was the other person who wasn't interested, the other person who was only about the physical interaction.

Honesty, man, it's too bad that we couldn't be honest more often. Stings more maybe, but way less drawn-out-heartache.

Virtually every single time that someone says they are not looking for a relationship they mean they are not looking for that specific relationship. With that specific partner.

One time a co-worker-friend of mine made me promise to read a book entitled "Why Men Love Bitches". Despite that promise, I have managed to completely avoid any such book and the idea of such book makes me want to barf onto my own face.
(ha, although, you may think I've read this on account of how goddamn rude I am so much of the time)

**I will, of course, need to mention at this juncture that I am not generally successful at relationships (to put it lightly) and I'm pretty nutso in all sorts of ways. I also do not follow the advice in this post but I am trying.. so leave me alone for a minute. **

Though... I do not regret ending any relationship. I do not regret relationships that the other person ended. They were for sure right.
I do not regret ways in which I've acted which were maybe a bit much for someone. Because that's what I'm like!
I am a bit much sometimes and I'm stupid and open and whole-hearted about things and I think that's fine.
I have a bunch of awesome to back it up. And a nice set.

If someone is easily put off by one thing I've said, or one text I've sent, or one email that happened too soon, then clearly (clearly!) they are not the one for me!

I think a big thing that happens so much in dating (Toronto dating especially, ugh) is that we forget we're dealing with actual human beings.
Each person is different and so specific -- they are not defined by your first impression of them or what you want them to be or the fact that they text you 3 times in a row, or the annoying thing they said once, they are so much more than that.
I know that I make that mistake, and also I like people too often based on talent or looks or what someone else thinks of them and that isn't particularly valid either.

Also, in Toronto especially, everyone is looking for the next best thing. People (particularly us women?) are looking for someone who is cooler than them, sexier than them, more successful, with more talent, etc., etc.
But then what can happen is we spend the whole time feeling not-quite-good-enough. And the insecurities degrade the interactions.

Or we get caught in situations where the physical overpowers the emotional. Using someone for sex is still not that cool. Not to point out the obvious here, but I feel like acting like you're in a relationship with someone (or leading them to believe it's a possibility) because you enjoy having sex with them can be a bit wearing emotionally. On all parties. (when I read that back I definitely read that as "On all panties" haaha)

This goes back to the whole best friend thing I was talking about awhile ago. People are forgetting what they actually want in a partner and are pursuing people who obviously they will never feel equal to or worthy of, even when they ARE obviously equal and worthy, but once the power imbalance is that vast it's terribly hard to right.
Does that make sense?
I wish this were clearer. Hmm.

I am the CEO of being hung up on people who just aren't interested in me, and the Captain of thinking I can win it.
I'm not saying this behaviour will change overnight, but I'm saying that, in the end, I don't want to spend time with someone who doesn't get why I'm the best.
I want to spend time with someone who gets why I'm the best and gets why they themselves are the best. And how we'd be best together.

Wow, I did not mean to write this much on the subject, but there you go.
This life is hard and dating is stupid and even if you like being single it's still stupid and the pressure and the possibilities and the crushing disappointment of when things don't work out...

And it is crushing when it doesn't work out. I know, I know.
But for whatever reason that doesn't make me less eager to go out and get my hopes up every five minutes.

the sort of mood where everything goes wrong

Holy Heck! I'm so irritable! I can't even describe!
And maybe if I could think of a good reason then I'd be able to talk myself out of it. But there is no good reason! Oh, maybe I've not taken cold medicine in awhile and I'm coming down off of it.

I was very hungry and no one has bought groceries in about a billion years (good for the calorie counts, I guess) and so all there was was porridge and so I went to make porridge in the microwave and this house is a disaster and no one has done the dishes in about a billion years and so I tried to make it in a mug and of course it boiled over and then there was porridge all over the microwave and none left in the mug and I threw it all out and refused to try again because all the bowls are dirty and they had porridge in the them and so they're way too dirty to just quickly wash.
AHAHAHHHHHHHHAHAHAHHAHA.
Holy Nutso.
Things you should never admit to.

Though, I gotta tell you, my messiness of late still has absolutely nothing on my messiness of a couple of years ago.
(on several levels)

Guys Guys Guys Guys Guys, what I like in blogs are posts about babes. Mostly hopeful nice things about babes, but babe-hunting in general, that's what I like to hear about. I'm constantly struggling with how to write about things on here.

So mostly I just don't, but man...
I don't know.

In a related story, I think that my body is trying to trick me into getting into a relationship, it's all like BABESBABESBABESBABES even when I know for serious that I am in no state to actually be involved with anyone. Shitty biological urges.
The TimesOnline are reporting that Wealthy men give women more orgasms. So my goal of a rich husband is even further set.
The best is the comments after the article.
The one is my favourite:
"Rather concerned about the throw-away comment at the end implying that women who orgasm with their partners are more loyal. I would think orgasmic women enjoy sex to a greater degree and therefore would be more likely to look for it more often - probably with different partners."
That's right, men! If your partner thinks she can't orgasm and is very used to mediocre sex, then she is totally going to stay with you forever!!!!
I also love referring to women as "orgasmic"!

I can't find my dayplanner and I need it! and I can't imagine where I would've left it.
I need it!
I did, however, finally find my blank book which has the list of every babe I've ever made out with (not counting jokes and other sport). It has been missing for months and I only had one new update? That seems dumb, seems like I hang with more babes than that. Then I remembered, I just recycle way too often.

Hey, you know what is a good idea when you're in a bad mood? Dealing with technology!
Aw, man, best plan ever.

God I'm hungry.
And irritable.

I give up, I'm taking more cough medicine, I can't function right now.
I'm going to dig up something to eat as well, this can't be helping.
I'm also going to go smile. I hear that is good for me. Right now it's looking suspiciously like a grimace though.

alone timez = party timez

Alone time is fun time!!!

I mean, I have to settle into it but then.... PLEASURE

ah aloneness and quiet and making up things in my head and books and internets and lying around in the bath for awkwardly long times and today for some reason I was flapping my arms like a lunatic whilst giddy-upping across the apartment and then I realized that that was what I was doing and I laughed. And then every time I thought about it I laughed some more.

Maybe coffee puts me in a good mood for a full day? Or maybe I'm just naturally happy today.

I was a good customer service person today. I could feel it. That's nice. I like when I able to be nice and friendly and engaged and not a whiny little simp like I usually am.
OBVIOUSLY.

Yesterday at work for some reason I was talking to my co-worker about intimate business (I know, not like me at all) and I said something about maybe not being as careful about condoms because, quote, "I just wanted him to like me"
and then I fell over onto the ground laughing because I'm the stupidest person I've ever met and I sounded like a shitty after-school special in the best/worst way.
(p.s. that didn't even ever really happened I don't know what I was on about, maybe I was trying to look cool... ahahahahhhhhhhhhhhha.)

I just reread a couple of entries I wrote recently and goddamn do I have bad grammar. Sorry about that, guys. If you want you can post comments correcting me!
Fun Timez For Everyone!

(don't just say there are too many errors for words, that's unhelpful)

Oh, hey, I bet I never posted pictures on here of the umbrella I made for my mother because it was a secret until Christmas.. but now Christmas has passed :( :( :(
mum's umbrella
mum's umbrella

i sure painted this umbrella
Aw, sorry guys, are you now sad that I didn't make one for you for Christmas? Okay I will I guess.

(which ended up not working with their computer because it is soooo old and Mac is bitchy about things like that)

and here's the umbrella I painted for the BFF

the colour is off here, it's really more purple and prettier in real life you will just have to take my word already.

I made these, too
IMG_0594

And other ones!!!
Because I am fancy like that.

I've had to pee for at least 45 minutes but I want to finish this post first!!!

You might be able to tell that I am feeling pleased with myself today. I am. I ate real healthy and stuff and walked both ways to work and was sooo tired when I got home but in a nice way and there was a big snowfall on my way down but it was quite beautiful and I have good winter boots for once in my life...
Sighs.

If I only had all the money to pay off my in-debts then this life would be a very, very good life to be living.
Time to book another gig, I guess.

and poop!

I know that I've been talking about this episode to at least a couple of people lately so I thought I'd just go ahead and post it.

More episodes at midwestteensexshow.com

Man, I hope I didn't already post this episode... Oh well. Whatevers.

I have 100% nothing that I have to do today. Which is kind of great and also annoying because I know I'm just gonna fritter it away. Ah man, I want fritters.

shoppers sex toys!

I feel like this video is worth watching for you:

I guess today is where I talk about sex.
Well, not really. Well, except we went to Shoppers and I decided to buy condoms (responsibility!!!!). Then we got distracted by all the other things we could buy to do with sex.

Not to be a 10 year old or anything but that product is called ASTROGLIDE!!!
How awesome is that? I want to have sex all the time if it's anything like the name ASTROGLIDE implies. That sounds fun! That sounds like space! That sounds like adventure!
Does AstroBoy use Astroglide??
And even better is the Life version, Easy Glide ... way, way less fun. Sounds like a windshield wiper or something.

I spent about 27 minutes trying to figure out if there was a difference between these two types of condoms

I concluded that one had a heat-ray-photo of hot passion and one did not. Therefore I bought the one that did not because I am into safe ordinary things, like the missionary position and not too many colours.

Speaking of terrifying things: Why are there so, so many different kinds of warming lube? There were SO MANY. In case you were wondering, I do not like warming lube I do not want it anywhere near me, just bear that in mind if you're ever trying to have sex with me (oh when are you not?).

These gadgets are strange, too:

If you just can't commit to going and buying an actual sex tox/vibrator/etc, you can just hit up Shoppers and get a disposable one.

20 minutes? Like having deadlines? I know I work better that way. If you come very quickly you might even be able to use it twice! Three times??!?
GO FOR IT I BELIEVE IN YOU.

We tried to figure out the differences. All made me feel weird, weird nub one, werid pointing one, weird ring one that made me think of RingPops (fav candy mmm candy)...

ohhh the pointing one is for use alone OR with a partner.

Bet my mum is glad she tuned in for today's entry!!!

Oh my good lord I have two really funny ideas of what to go as for Hallowe'en. V V V funny. I think since I have different parties to go to on different night (soooo pop) that I might go as both and I'm not going to tell you what they are. Even though I want to SO badly.
Oh so, so badly.
But I think with pictures will be even better. Right?

oh yeah, the show last night was fun. I sang and danced and no one told me about how bad I was so, Success!
Now I have all the songs stuck in my head. But that's okay. Especially since I want to sing with them again sometime. There were so, so many people onstage. I don't even know how many. Around a tonne probably.

tights!!!!!
I looked pretty. These tights are so hot, they are thigh-highs with a tiny bit of red at the top - matched my outfit. clothes sigh.
I WANT TO BE A ROCKSTAR STILL.
No denying.

More pictures later maybe, though there was no light, so they're all kind of pointless.
Just like this blog!
