2012 2012 2012

2012 2012 2012 2012 2012 2012
party!

OUR HOUSE IS ALWAYS PARTY.

"we're bad people" -my roommate, Ron
"no way man, I haven't slept with anyone this year" -me

uhhhhh
maybe we'll have some resolutions up in this house but I BET NOT.

nah nah nah, man, I'm mature now like a grown adult guy this guy is now a good guy. Don't worry.

I'm charming........... Here I am getting ready to finish off the year. Dollface came over and made this super good dip that we ate the shit out of and washed it down with a bottle of prosecco from her ma! Looks like someone's ma doesn't give them a dirty look when they go for that second beer.....

We went to Comedy Bar last night with some lovely ladies and other pals. I specifically wanted a low-presh New Years and I definitely did not want to have to be chasing the fun or running from party to party so this ended up being really nice. I laaauughed and I danced and I drank and I kissed some people on their cheeks and was super pleased to hang out with some of my favourites and pleased to make other buds into better buds. So, basically right on.
Coulda been better if I had a sweet babe on my arm, but ya know, sometimes you can't have evvverything you like.

Also, it was Mantown!

I love the sparklers for Mantown!

Aw, this bud is adorable!

And I missed this cute face while I was away in Saskatoon for a couple weeks there. I mean, I see Nicole so goddamn much now that are improv lives are married together and we party forever at comedy and in life.
A funny thing happened where I tried to blame her for the way I've been saying my "A"s lately, specifically on words like Haaaandsome... it's almost like a midwestern thing but not quite. Anyhow, she blames that on me! Team influencing!
Also she said she's started putting her chin around in the air sometimes for emphasis, which is apparently something I do. Disbelieve that.

here is a video I just found on her blog of her backing up her claim of being a rapping genius.

Anyway,

I forced Dollface into getting up on stage for the Mantown drinking games. I would 100% forsure win those drinking games if I weren't allergic to beers. So many beers I don't drink!
Love her hot pink pants. Very festive!

This Mantown featured 100% more Jan Caruana.
1 Jan + 2 Babes. Nice.
I liked that. Although I do still like the other men who normally reside in this town.
It was the dirtiest mantown I've ever seen but luckily I can understand dirty jokes. I get them.

After my new year kiss from Dollface! So much red lipstick. Oh I left it on forsure. The only picture I have with the girls at new years is SO GODAWFUL that I need to save it for another time. It's so wonderfully bad that I just keep looking at it and laughing and crying at how ugly I am.
Why doesn't photoshop work on my computer right now!!??!
(I'm not going to make the photo better, only worse don't worry.)

I took these other glamour shots when I got home last night. Didn't really remember doing that. The good thing about there not being any nudie shots in this lot means I didn't send any to anyone! Right on! No, there are surprisingly few racy pictures of me that exist in this world and I feel a tiny bit sad that I'll probably make it to 30 without any surfacing on the internet. (horrified face from my relatives)
Not that I want them on the internet, I just feel like it'll probably eventually happen and it won't be when I'm at my best!
Let's do some nude scenes in some movies.
(just kidding I'm horrrribly prudish and awkward and insecure!)

haahahaaaa classic blank face pose.

My point is that HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!
I'm excited for this next year, maybe I'll learn how to work working into my funtime alltime schedule. I'd like that!
I like that my birthday happens beside the new year because then it's like everything is all new and fresh all together (I mean, never actually, but, you know).

What are your guys's resolutions?
I want to ask Siri but unfortunately I don't have her in my phone yet so I have to wait and then I'll ask her what to wish for my resolutions to be.

1.01.2011

do I sound like an asshole? I don't mean to.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

haaa, tricked y'all by not wearing either of those outfits.
not my fault. I ended up going to a party with Violet and it was "whiskey" themed. Like you should dress up like a character who drinks whiskey.
So I ended up wearing my most sailor-like clothes!
Sailors love whiskey!

yesyes saw shambers and then violet and then dollface and then even more party time. So far this year has been filled with very fun people, with being proud of my friends, with being amusing and being amused, with being semi-responsible and aware.
I hope it keeps keep keeps on like this!

ohhh hey! it's 7 a.m.! maybe I should consider going to sleep now. definitely!

OKAY LET'S GET SERIOUS.
IMG_7771

just kidding opposite of serious. Which outfit should I wear tonight?
I still don't know what exactly I'll be doing.

IMG_6301

okay either awesome forever 21 jean dress that is tight and funny with black tights and black heel boots
or
funny sparkly shirt from Value Village in Prince Albert with extra-funny highwaisted shorts from Sirens in the Saskatoon Midtown mall with black tights and black heel boots.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

I think I'm going to go to Shambers for a bit and then maybe to some other parties?
Although it has recently occurred to me that maybe no one I know will even be at Shambers'! Awkward!

Everyone is all split up and scattered.
Alllllll of my best wingmen are out of town or working or have boyfriends. Not kidding!

Maybe when Dollface finishes working at 6 a.m. then she will want to party with me. Actually quite possible. What shall I do until 6 a.m.....?

IMG_7796
IMG_7799
hahahaahahaa cop face awkward arms.

I accidentally stayed up late last night. I watched TV and ate even though I was the tiredest person ever. But then I fell asleep and slept straight through for 12 hours. That's an accomplishment!
I lovelovelove sleeping.

IMG_6304

Point being, I'm rested up and ready for tonight.
Although it's looking more and more like I'll be all dressed up with nowhere to go!
Classic!

IMG_7797

I know of several fun things happening so if you wanna be a wingman or need a wingman then tell me about it!

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR BLOG!

Steve gave me her new years hat on new years. I wonder where she got it? From the party, maybe? Another friend had a lovely red one that I wore for most of the time i was there but he wanted it back -- it went too nicely with his t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.
IMG_9437
I also wore this hat all around the house yesterday. And took self-timer pictures of it with my dslr. dslr self-timer pictures are harder to wrangle because the auto-focus starts when you set the time, not right before you take the picture. Maybe my camera just isn't smart enough.
IMG_9438
I love this hat. i want to be in a chorus line and parade around town in it.
IMG_9456

IMG_9434
I know that it looks like I'm trying to make out with Rerun there but really I'm just kissing him aggressively on the face. Such is life.
IMG_9468

I've bought too many things! I don't know how I'm going to pack them all. At all.
Only today and tomorrow left around here and then 6 a.m. (what the hell is wrong with me, why do I pick such early fucking flights? jeezus.) Monday morning I'm back to Toronto.

IMG_9429

Haloscan starting charging for commenting systems and I spend so much money on lots of little internet things, I wasn't really into the idea of paying more... so I'm switching over to Disqus because they let me import the old comments and stuff so hopefully that all works out??
Now comment to try it out.

1.01.2010

this year will be about having even more fun than I expected

IMG_8954

New Years turned out way better than I expected!
The best kind of evening, where you have zero expectations of fun and then fun creeps up and surprises you!

IMG_8957

There were more people that I really like a lot at BandSwap, and I kind of enjoyed being the raffle girl, I was in a good enough mood to badger people into buying tickets.
Oh, yeah, for those not in Saskatoon -- BandSwap is an annual event where 35 or so Saskatoon musicians from various bands put their names into a lottery of sorts and form new bands and then they also draw songs they have to cover (I think in 24 hours? Something like that, I don't know, I'm never in it, always just the raffle girl). It's always very very funny and fun and I really should have remembered that.
Also, all the proceeds go to the Crisis Nursery. So that's obviously great.

The best was when we had so many sparklers lit up for the new year and then the fire alarm went off (not sure if it was related) and they thought there was an actual fire and so everyone had to be evacuated out into the 40 below weathers. Amazing.

IMG_8959
(These South Saskatchewan river shots are from my friend's wedding, which was in the top of the Sheraton overlooking everything. pretty beautiful views. )

IMG_8963

After Amigos I went over to Scratch, which is our friend's new restaurant/club and it is really quite neat. I went to meet up with Steve-Dave and Constantine, who were dancing and dancing. I'm pretty pleased I stopped by, ended up closing the place down and practicing all our sweet moves.

I was super responsible about not over-drinking, so much so that when I arrived home at about 5 in the morning (thanks, Brother Mistletoe, for coming to fetch me when there were no cabs to be found!) I was close to sober. Better sober than barfing! Also that meant zero hang over today, which was awesome.

IMG_8964

Today I'm back to my usual home-body ways. I made the most delicious hashbrowns and ate them all with spinach and eggs and tomatoes and that was great.
Oh yeah, last night I made corn chowder and potato soup and mum put it in all the freezer in tiny containers for meals later the way that she does. I'm stocking her up so I don't have to get her Meals On Wheels.

("Meals on wheels has desserts..." - pouting old mother)

IMG_9251
(In my mum's kitchen there's lots of pretty things hanging around.)

Mum says I'm turning into Suzy Homemaker. That's definitely not true. I have zero interest in cleaning anything, for instance.
But I do really quite enjoy cooking. Especially for other people. I don't really get to do that in Toronto. It feels weird to invite people over specifically for dinner. Some people it isn't too weird, I guess. Niki, for instance. Also, I have such a restricted diet that maybe people don't like the same things I like. JL, in particular, eats everything that is the opposite of what I eat.

IMG_9252

Some days I wish that I had roommates to make food for.
I like how making a meal makes me feel capable and healthy, in control of things and clever. Oh, and the payoff is immediate and filling.

IMG_9256

Look, Adventure Cat is still soooo little. She will never stop being a kitten, ever. If she tries I will punch her.
I love all these cats. Rerun and Pansy sleep under the covers with me, one on either side. Sigh.

I'm running out of home-time very quickly. It seems like it's all of a sudden, but of course it isn't at all. There's still people I was meaning to hang out with...
And I want to go bowling on Sunday. Who's going to come bowling?

Happy first day of the new year!!

LAST DAY OF THE YEAR!

saskatoon river bank

yeah, guys, I've been totally "power-shopping", as my mum puts it.
I've been very sick of my whole wardrobe forever and no matter what I buy I'm still sick of everything, which I think comes along a bit with not being completely at ease with my body. Classic troubles.
Anyhow, I bought up all of Salvation Army and Value Village yesterday --  so much good stuff! Usually I don't find too many things at Sally Ann but it was their 50% off sale and I went to town. UH HUH.

trees on the banks of the south saskatchewan

Then I've been trolling the midtown for dealz and I've got quite a few things. At first I was on a mission to find jeans I'd like to wear (I currently own no jeans that I feel pleased about wearing. I do however, own about 8 pairs of jeans that I don't like) but then I realized that was hopeless as any jeans I want cost 1 billion dollars and so I've just been buying more dresses and tights and leggings and skirts. mmmmhmmm. Favourites.

mum's backyard

Also Costa Blanca had a bunch of their lacy things on sale so I bought so many of those. Plus La Senza had 10 underwears for $30.. so.. you know.
I also picked up some snowflake earrings from Claire's today. $2. A friend was wearing the most tasteful intricate snowflake pendant the other day and so I was sort of on the lookout for one of those... no luck, though.
So much ugly Christmas crap in this world!
It's like people don't understand that Christmas is about beauty and taste.

IMG_4812

I still feel like doing absolutely nothing. When I'm out of the house, I don't mind it, but when I'm home all I want to do is stay home and teach myself how to crochet while watching movies.

I watched two disappointing movies last night.
a) Brothers
This wasn't as good as it could have been. It was alright. Alright isn't that good.
b) The Invention of Lying
This cast was so loaded and Ricky Gervais is so funny. Too bad it didn't come together. I only LOLed once. That's not that good.

mum's crane sculptures in the snow

I'm supposedly heading out to BandSwap at Amigo's tonight. I'm also supposedly going to be the raffle girl. I'm not really feeling it, gotta admit.
I'm not too sure about who I'll even know that's there and if I will be in a good enough mood to enjoy it. Good thing I'm psyching myself into it!!!!

in mum's kitchen

I'm trying to teach myself how to crochet in order to make a billion crochet snowflakes (because they are so lovely!). It's going alright. I am secretly a housewife. A very terrible housewife.

I'm feeling a bit sad, missing Toronto. It's okay, New Years is generally a bust no matter what. Always trying to figure out what to do/how to have the most best ultimate time..
Ha, I overheard a girl in the mall tell her friend "Yeah we're just going to get an ice cream cake and chill out".
Sounds perfect, doesn't it?
