it's violet's birthday!
Hey, guess what?
it's Violet(the BFF, remember?)'s birthday today! I can think of no better excuse than this to post some pretty photos of her.

Niagara Falls! That's one of my best friends from childhood there with us, she was in town for a vacation and so we went to Niagara Falls and it was very fun. I love trips. Who wants to take me on trips??

hahaa nice.

aaaaahhhhhhahahaha. If you know me you'll know that I like to make my friends who don't know each other be friends with each other. I don't really have a specific friend group, I have lots of friends from different groups/circles/jobs/arts and I like to make them all interact. Sometimes it's awkward but not always. Anyway, look the Mrs. and Violet are being friends! Friends who just love talking about their periods!

These are from when I was still shooting on film. Remember film? That was hard work.
oh good, digital

Hey I have those exact same earrings I don't remember us both having them.
Violet like pink and purple and pearls but in a good way. so if you're going to buy her a birthday gift I would recommend something along those lines.
I worked the Jays home-opener last night just like I said I was going to and it was way less terrible than I had feared. Success!
I mean, sure, everything was a disaster and disorganized and the company and its employees were pitted against each other and we didn't have anywhere near enough supplies for the amount of sales we were doing. And I worked with one co-worker who we are all certain steals tips! (TIP STEALING?? ULTIMATE LOW)
But it was still way less awful that I thought it would be.
The dome used to be my absolute favourite job. But now that's it's run by a new company and after working at the other stadium and seeing how it could be properly.. well, it's hard not to get frustrated with how poorly things are run.
Am I going to get fired for bad-mouthing them?
Luckily we are unionized now so they'll have a tougher time.
Plus the union seems to be doing fuck-all for us except a TINY pay raise which just barely covers our union dues.
Anyway, I have a sort of affection for the dome and kind of a lot of secret affection for the Jays like they are all my buds and we should hang out more because I know all their songs and stuff. haaha, I'm not good at sports.
Everyone I knew was at the game having a paaarty time without me and I was kind of jealous. I've been jonesing to go to a sports game lately. WHO'S GOING TO TAKE ME??
Wow, I'm being needy today, hey?
Okay okay, here's a photo of Violet and I in a pool at night. I got it off facebook. Obviously.
Oh yeah, speaking of facebook:

Oh yeah, speaking of facebook:
This whole thread is very funny because commenter #1 is someone who gave me his email address while I was working at the stadium and he told me that I looked very cute in my glasses. Which is a funny way of putting things because I assure you, I look cute frequently, glasses or no.
Yes, I did end up FB friends with someone who tried to pick me up at work, leave me alone.
PLUS, he had no follow-through. So we never hung out, now we're just awkwardly facebook friends. I hope he reads this just because it would add to the amazing amount of awkward.
Also it's funny because I frequently wear contact lenses, I just hadn't had any new ones in awhile. Sometimes you just don't feel like wearing glasses. Especially if you want to wear sunglasses. Or when it's rainy. Or when your nose is tired of supporting them.
Also I was being sarcastic! Obviously! Okay, they get that probably, I know. But still.
Fucking blogger post editing is getting to me, quit formatting things I don't need formatted!

DAY OFF!!!!
It definitely 100% feels like fall today. In an alright way. I left the house wearing a sweater and a jersey dress and it was okay for a bit but I definitely wore my new jacket home.
Met Poppy and Cpt. Heh for coffee at Ella's Uncle and then we wandered over to Kensington.
I ended up buying a sweet black corduroy hooded jacket (for fall!!!) at Vintage Depot and getting a black backpack (been looking for a sweet one lately) at Sub Rosa Vintage. If I had money I would buy many, many items from Sub Rosa. Poppy got a funny green striped shirt, also.
Sub Rosa is owned by my friend that was in the Hey, George little film with me.

She is very, very nice and pretty and I'm a bit jealous of her owning that store, I'll be quite honest.
Remember when I'd just finished highschool and I decided to open a recycled clothing store? Yeah, this lady is living my dream. Sigh.

I bit these photos from the Sub Rosa blog. Some of these things are probably still for sale there so you can buy them.

The store is located right beside Courage My Love at 16 Kensington Ave. So go there. And buy things.
Oh yeah, that's also where I got my new glasses that I love.

Yep, those ones.

These photos are from brunch yesterday. Best Aunties times are ones that last all afternoon.

It started out just me and Miss Lindeman and that was pretty nice because she's pretty nice.

(she has one fake strong fingernail for playing banjo with. Kind of neat.)
Then this friend

and his friend joined us and we had sort of separate conversations but also overlapping. And then those dudes left.

Then Deck came and joined us and refused to look nice for photos.

But he got the sandwich special (obviously). (I had tacos. Obviously.)

Then Miss Lindeman left and Niki came by. And we had a time. And during this time she would not allow her picture to be taken. Just like always.

Oh yeah, and there were babies! Lots of babies around. I like when people's faces change when they're looking at babies. Cute. McGruff loves babies and he's so funny with them.

I would definitely leave him in charge of my children.
McGruff was laughing about the revolving door at my table and said I should have a talk show. I agree. I would be an excellent interviewer. If all the questions were about me.
Then when I got home I found that I had somehow broken the lens on my digital SLR camera!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck!
Which is probably my fault for announcing how much money I'd payed off on my credit card this month. Uh huh ugh.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it snowed in Saskatoon today. Thanks, Facebook/Twitter for passing on important news.
I'm ready to start getting ready for Christmas.

FACEBOOK TAGGED PHOTO PARTY!!!
Here is an entry where I will post pictures of me that people put on Facebook that I didn't take. I will not put up the ones where I feel that I look unattractive. Such is the joy of having one's own blog.
I DO WHAT I WANT.
These two are from a few summers ago and I'm not really friends with anyone in them still, except Prune, who is a life-friend.

The boys lived down the block from me and we called them the porch boys because they sat on their porch all the livelong day. Original, hey? I had crushes on both of them at one time or another. That one shirt says "Imagine a world with more bears". I love it.
Here are some that SteveDave uploaded to Facebook from my August visit!

Oh the fun we had! I never wear a scarf like that. But it's coming on fall... so maybe I'll start.

Here are a couple that Zach took of me.

Did I post these already? WHO KNOWS! I kind of wish my hair were really that dark red brown sort of deal yo.

My aunt took this photo in May and the prairies are all brown in the way I like and my cousin and her daughters are in it!

That is why it is a good photo. I love my family.
I LOVE BABIES

I probably posted my photos from this party at some point or another but I gotta say, parties I go to these days don't have enough BABIES at them.

Sass took this photo I think at Sneaky Dee's probably

And the reason why it is awesome is that Deck's giant nose is lit up in it. Handsome.
Sass actually takes most of the photos of me.
I took this photo on Deck's camera on the way to Owen Sound, I think? We live in Toronto!

I was supposed to take good photos on there for him. Fail.
Whenever I call Accost, this is what she sees:

Responsible sunscreen wearing at the Vimmy Memorial show in Saskatoon in August.

I don't know what to nickname the dude who took this. I'll think on it.

Another from Sass, I like the look of this all around.
Okay sketch writing class time!

JTT LINK TIME!!!
I still don't think I really understand Twitter. I mean, I do. I get it, I just also don't use it to its full potential. But I've downloaded TweetDeck, and that's helping. Anyway, obviously searched "JTT" and "Jonathan Taylor Thomas" because, well, what else would I search?
I came across a twitter profile which makes like it is JTT's real twitter site twitter.com/jontaylorthomas
except:
a) Really you think JTT is still going by JTT?
b) if it is him he is not very funny at all and not someone I'd like
c) he's bit racist/offensive/too much information
d) he loves bacon (if JTT is no longer a vegetarian, does this mean I have to start eating meat again, too???? not that it would surprise me if anyone started eating meat again, I mean most people grow out of this phase. Or at least that's word on the street.)
Wow my life is fun.
Also:
I'm getting pretty T.O.ed at Facebook right now. So what if I don't want my name capitalized (killary, how did you get yours lowercase? I don't remember how I did mine now..)? I should be allowed to write it how I'd like. Also, I should be able to put whichever name I'd like. Only allowing your full "real" name? Dumb.
I get pretty mad when people get in the way of my jokes.

(ha, awesome movie star hair.)
Lately I keep sort of second-guessing myself here, and censoring/backing off jokes that I think are funny or wondering if what I'm writing is what I mean, or what I want people to think I mean.
Wondering how much manipulation of people's ideas of me I'm trying to do...
Pretty annoying, I'll tell you that much for free.
Cpt. thinks I'm extra nutso because I admit to it too much/write about it too much.
Maaaaaybe.
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty funny occasionally in private blog and I feel sad that you don't get to enjoy it so I may or may not start quoting myself.

30 rock, then bed

Okay so lately I've been very into reading http://sorry-mom.com (aka: I Bang The Worst Dudes). It's probably the best thing to read when you're on a babe-break because it's a reminder of how impossibly dreamy some babes are. I don't agree with the photos being posted (black-barred eyes or not) but some of the stories are too funny (and also terrible).
I see they are looking for good submissions. So you ladies (Sass) should submit your horror stories and then I'll try and guess which ones are yours.
I was actually trying to think of a story to submit, but I have to say, I mostly know dreamboats. Mostly.
The problem with talking about babe-break on here is that I'll have to at some point admit to having ended it and then that'll be awkward since I generally tend to try to keep specific babes out of this blog. It's sort of like having your facebook status set to something and then you eventually have to take it down (or stay together forever in a healthy and loving, long-lasting relationship) --- aaawkward to find out about your friends' break-ups this way, even more so when they only stay broken up for a few days but have taken down the relationship status in a fit. That's the point to leave it down, I would say.
Fine, I'm kind of obsessed with Facebook and Facebook etiquette.
I guess taking down the relationship does avoid some foot-in-mouth situations, since your friends will know what has happened and be prepared for when you tell them. Still weird.
One year we had a birthday(for me)/Christmas party at Mrs. and Tanner's house and I put my foot in my mouth about 4 times in a row. I guess it was just that kind of week. I asked too many people where their significant other was, only to be informed that they had just broken up. I had actually broken up with a dude that week also, now that I think about it.
The very worst though, was when I was standing with my friend on the porch and I started yelling "hey, look, your boyfriend's here! I found your boyfriend" as he walked up the house and then she just turned and went inside. Turned out they had broken up that day (? day before?) and she had no idea he'd come to the party.
Why did he come to the party? I didn't invite him. I don't even like that guy. At all.
You know what I do like? Christmas!
Aaaand kittens:
(swear I didn't even put her under the covers)
OH YEAH P.S. - The teacher at the dental school I was at getting my teeth cleaned today, she says that to get a filling at the George Brown dental clinic is only about $10.
I just might have to go and get some cavities so I can take advantage of this exceptional bargain.
