but it's almost Christmas and almost my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!
and so here is my quick list for ya!

1. TRUE LOVE AND HAPPINESS IN MY FAMILY AND FRIEND LIFE FOREVER

2. BOUNDLESS CAREER SUCCESS

that's pretty much it!

I'm doing a lot a lot of (beautiful) handmade stuff this year because I am joke-broke (ugugghgughh Raptors and improv are killing me) and so it will make me uncomfortable if anyone gets me anything really!

but in an ideal world these are the things I would wish for:

1. a passport (these cost money, who knew!)

2. money and time to more improv/comedy classes

3. a plain silver or gold ring
I've been wanting a plain ring for awhile now something with a tiny stone or no stone or a pattern in the metal or anything really, classic, simple.

4. booze

5. blue and gold antique dishes (always)
or just the best plain blue and white ones since everything gets broken all the time

6. laces, silks, crocheted things
in general

7. thick socks and nice tights!

8. a new computer!!!! (no? hmmmm that's weird no one wants to buy me one)

9. jeans
hahaa no don't buy me jeans but I do need new jeans so bad just reminding myself right now

10. a trip to a beach with a babe

11. antique coloured glassware especially with gold or silver edging

12. cheese

13. craft supplies

14. beautiful decorations

is that all? probably.

I'm a very, very lucky young woman with so many wonderful things in my life and particularly wonderful people and, honestly, the only thing I really really need this year is to see my friends and family and spend real time with them.

also I went hot tubbing on a hotel rooftop last night and it was sleet-raining and the city lights around us and we were the only ones up there and you know those times where you're jealous of your past self?

And actually then later he brought us freezies. Not bad not bad. Mrs, for one is completely exhausted of hearing about my new roommates. It's kind of like having 3 new boyfriends. They're the people who I see the most of. Of course everything involves them. If they would like me less and go out more, we could avoid this problem.
 


last night I went to comedy with Mrs, Arrow, and Flash Gordon and they all had ciders but I had a smirnoff ice.

Actually I had two.

Also, the day before that I had two smirnoff ices and can everyone stop talking about mixing them with beer? I'm tired of hearing about it. Also, smirnoff ice tastes like a liquid chemical death but sometimes you can't have beer and you don't want 4.5% cider and you don't want a tiny cocktail. YA KNOW?


Flash Gordon and I had 2 smirnoffs each after work and then we were drunk. Because that's what liquid chemical death does for ya.

I may go to see even more comedy tonight because now I'm totally immersing myself in it and it feels different watching it because instead of jealous I feel inspired and excited for when I'm going to be doing everything too. It's going to be so fun!



I mused to my mother about how many comedians I could make out with because getting a "bad reputation".
I said, "hopefully a lot" and she said it's okay because I'm a comedian now so after making out with them I just yell "JUST KIDDING".
right on, right?



Also, after I got my tattoo my mum said "it's nice because when you feel like adding on to it you can just make it more ornate".

In other news, I'm very homesick. But I still love it here, too.

yesterday was Firehorse's birthday.
I have to say, I would be 1 billion times more nervous about moving if it weren't for dearest Firehorse.
I'm still nervous and we still have stuff to sort out. but.

ha, the other night we made wishes on 12:34 and 1:23 (I think?) and cheers and then said "I love you guys" to each other. How adorable, right?

I felt weird that all the rest of the bender gang were inside without me. probably planning on drinking forever.

yeah, we like each other a lot these days.


I let Firehorse wear my "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY" necklace. I have a back-up so it's okay if he lost it (not okay). and I got him some "birthday" beads. (not official just that's what I called them.)
I also made him a card that said "I'd have gotten you a proper gift but I don't want more shit cluttering up my house" or something like that.

hahahaaa I just talked to Carla Ghee and she was saying how she was chatting with this babe forever and then all of a sudden he was like "I have to go home, I work super early" and Carla Ghee is pissed because why did he hog all her time if he wasn't going to stick around? there were so many other babes around!

We were at Ronnie's two days in a row this week. Fisher is mad that I haven't been to Dot. Fair enough! I bet Hoops is mad too.
I miss them. But I think we're finding a patio tonight since is it actually HOT outside for the first time this year.


last night before the birthday gathering, I made dinner for Flash Gordon. The idea was that it would take less time than going out for lunch with her but then of course, that wasn't really the case.

It was delicious, though.

roasted potatoes and scrambled eggs and then banana walnut pancakes... soooo good.

Flash Gordon came in and said "awww your little place...." and that almost made me weep. It's going to be bizarre not to live here anymore.
I keep telling myself I'm done with it so that I won't feel upset too bad. And I am done with it. Mostly.

it's supposed to rain all next week. that might be good? maybe I'll stay in and get something done for once?
My tall red-headed friend (who also needs a nickname) keeps stressing me out about how much packing I have to do. and then he says things like "are you going to rent a truck?" and "you mean you can't do it on the weekend?"

I've finally gotten around to using the instagram app. I'm late to this party, as well, I know. I am kind of into it, though. It's a bit annoying when people cross-post all of their same things on every platform. Like Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and blog. But I get the impulse to do so. And I know that all I am is redundant THANKS SHAMBERS.



I had kind of a lovely Valentines. I was debating whether or no to go out after work and so I called up Norman and we decided we maybe shouldn't go out, but then he was standing in front of Hoops (our new favourite bar ever) and he called me back and was like "come to hoops!"
So Hoops it was, and we dragged another recently single friend out and had some beers. Wandered up to Unlovable afterwards which we wondered out loud if that was a bit bad (or good?) to go to on Valentines Day..

Stayed til we could stay no longer and wandered home. Norman and I decided last night was not the night to sit in front of 7-11 for a couple more hours but I do hope it gets warmer soon so we can resume that passtime.




Oh yeah, I went to a charity bowling event with Violet and her law friends this weekend and we were asked if we were related.

I'm not related to Violet, but I for sure wish I were. Plus, being likened to her in any way is fine by me.

Which my cousin made herself for me. Amaaaazed. So beautiful. I think it might be the most beautiful fabric I've ever seen. Maybe. Can I wear this out and about?
Can I please have my own house and family now and wear this around all day?

All I want to do is eat and eat and eat. Everyone else is in the same boat, yeah? I'm not even hungry! It's just that there is way too much delicious food around. Ridiculous amounts of delicious foods!

Yesterday I made my birthday supper (tacos!) and I made my birthday cupcakes. I don't mind cooking too much. And actually it kind of soothed my terrible achingly-bad mood yesterday afternoon to putter around in the kitchen. But especially because it all worked out. If it hadn't then I might have had a real melt down.



Today has been fantastic so far. And we're done now with all the heavy stuff (not quite for my mum since she's preparing dinner). Breakfast is our big crowning jewel of the festivities. And it was all it should be. Along with the regular (but still amazing) eggs and potatoes, we had the (gluten-free!) crepes with gingerbread cheesecake stuff and poached pears my cousin made! Jeeeezus!
So lucky!

Along with the apron I got mostly a tonne of plates and dishes and each one is so wonderful. Good life, this one.


Okay you wanna know about these flourless chocolate cupcakes with maple creamcheese insides that I made for my birthday last night? (I know my cousin does so I thought I'd just post it here for everyone.)

I took a few different recipes and sort of combined them. I'm not the best baker for that exact reason -- that I have difficulty following recipes and sticking to things, luckily these turned out soooo good.
You know how eating gluten-free is all about trying to find things that are almost as good as their glutenful counterparts? Well these cupcakes were some of the best cupcakes I've ever had!

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES (WITH MAPLE CREAM CHEESE):
8 (1 oz) squares of semi-sweet chocolate
(you could do half of the squares of chocolate with 1/2 cup cocoa)
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

okay so I didn't have a double-boiler so I heated the chocolate squares and the butter in a pyrex over top (not touching the water but resting on the saucepan) of boiling water until they melted.
While that was going on I beat the eggs a lot with an electric beater. Then I beat the sugar and vanilla in. I may have used more vanilla than that.

In another bowl I combined
1 package cream cheese (warmed slightly to mix easier
1 egg
1/2 cup maple syrup (I would use more next time or possibly maple flavouring, you could also do some pumpkin or gingerbread type mix that'd be so good)
1/3 cup sugar

Then when the butter and chocolate were all melted and mixed I poured them into the rest of the cake ingredients and mixed it lightly.
Then poured it into the cupcake wrappers in the tins (it's very runny so don't be worried). Then I dropped spoonfuls of (the also very runny) creamcheese mixture into the centre of the cupcakes.

I baked the cupcakes at 300 degrees for half an hour. Except I forgot about the second batch and they were in there for probably 40 min at least and it didn't do them any harm at all.

If you were to make a cake with this recipe it's suggested to grease the tin and then flour it with cocoa powder. Apparently this amount is good for one 8-inch round cake (without the creamcheese bit -- that's the part I completely made up) but I would suggest making it in a bigger pan and spreading it out very thin. I would also suggest making mini cupcakes. The crunchy bits around the top edges of the cupcakes were everyone's favourites, that's why. These cupcakes are very soft and squishy and a bit more like pudding than cupcakes but I like fudgey brownie-type cakes way better anyway, so it's perfect for me!

Ugh so good. Now I wish I weren't so full so I could eat another.



Anyway, Christmas has been delightful thus far and I'm exceedingly pleased about today, etc. And I'm also pretty exhausted. Maybe I will have a little lie-down before dinner. Mum's making veggie pot pies and a big salad!

I don't know what it is about 27 that I'm so excited about but, man, I'm pretty stoked on it.
Maybe I'll be eating my hat this time next year, but I bet you this next year is going to be rad.



It's only just midnight here in Saskatoon and I feel it's the best idea to celebrate as long as possible and with as much gusto as I can muster. right? mmmhmm. Right now my gusto includes beers and internet and bothering the cats. Pretty party I would say.

(yes our angel is possibly drunk and holding a bottle... don't hate)


Tomorrow I have lunch with some fam and Killary and then dinner with even more fam and it's really only sinking in now that I'll get some actual gifts tomorrow! whoaly so excited. I love stuff! so much!


Things have been a little up and down this evening but these beers are helping and these cookies and lying around like an entitled asshole is always the best. Plus I'm going to be officially TWENTYSEVEN tomorrow at 8:52 a.m. -- the best ever!!

Aging is so fun! I get to be older and wiser, so excited for growing up and getting to do way more fun things forever. Think about all the adventures I can have!

aww I wish I could still eat donuts. This is me when I was younger (natural hair colour I think!) (every picture is a picture of when you were younger, show me a picture of you when you are older then I will say 'where'd you get that camera?' -mitch hedburg) and I think when I was in about as bad of a mood as I was in all this early eve. Luckily that has passed.
