So yesterday I was telling Mrs. that I have a sort of crush on this girl and then that lead to lots of gay jokes, not really, but a few that were choice, gotta say.
Want to preface this with saying "I support homosexuality". I'm pro-gay and I think that saying that one is 100% straight or gay is going a bit far, there's probably a bit of you at least which is gaaaay gay gay and wants it in the butt, etc.
But also, I like making jokes about everything.



Anyway, I was on my friend's computer last night while watching the Oscars and she started talking to our friend but under my name and I have very, very little recollection of this e-conversation happening (thanks, wine), I have no idea who wrote what, but:

and the oscar goes to...

I watched the Oscars last night with Mrs., we were supposed to go to her BF's house to watch with a bunch of people but instead inhaled a giant bottle of wine and ate potato chips from Honest Ed's (weirdly delicious).

Such a good Oscars! Am I right? I wasn't just drunk, was I?
It seemed like a lot of old-world glamour and Mrs. pointed out how beautiful the sets are (she does set dec. and props for film and TV, oh and also just got a job as an assistant on Flashpoint! Congrats Mrs.!), simple and shimmery and all golden and stuff. I thought all the dresses were really lovely and sort of themed, like they all planned it.
SIGH WHEN DO I GET TO GO.
And when do I get to be nominated, also??


Could I love Tina Fey any more? Could I?
It seems impossible, my heart swells at the sight of her... she's so great. I want to get married to her and create comedy gold forever and ever.
And pairing her with Steve Martin to present? Perfect.

I expected to like Juno and did (when I watched it illegally online yesterday because everyone already saw it without me).
I felt like it was missing something. I'm not sure what though. More? More about each character? More about the kids' interactions?

Michael Cera was really lovely. Almost a babe, even. Maybe it was the shorts. Though he is always pretty much the same (oh we all play ourselves anyhow) he had a sweetness here that I liked a whole lot.

The movie was more like New Waterford Girl than I expected, and actually more like the TV show I'm writing...
That's alright. I was looking for something easy to compare my script/pitch with. Besides My So-Called Life.

The Oscars were boring and no one looked particularly good. Brad Renfro wasn't in the in memoriam video. Sad. I want to wear something pretty too. I'm supposedly going to the ACTRA awards this weekend. Maybe I'll look fancy for that. Maybe I'll nominate myself and then I'll win and then I'll storm the stage. Just saying.

I never buy CDs but I bought Jenn Grant's today. Because it's that good (and I couldn't find it to download). I heard her once on CBC radio in my mum's truck and stuck that name in my head because the songs are so remarkably beautiful.
