starting a long walk is like falling asleep and first it is all I can think about the
way the sheets and blankets feel the tone of my breathing, the pillow against my cheek, keeping my eyelids closed, is the alarm set?
at first it is all I can think of it is my shoes and where they rub against my right heel
but not my left
the wind on my face and how cold it is even through my jeans, and my pace, stride, the fall of my feet on the pavement
until I drift off. And stop noticing the time passing, the steps or breaths or destinations
